He represents the electoral district of Bonavista as a member of the Newfoundland and Labrador Progressive Conservative Party. He was re-elected in the 2021 provincial election. The Newfoundland and Labrador House of Assembly is the Unicameralism, unicameral deliberative assembly of the General Assembly of Newfoundland and Labrador of the province of Newfoundland and Labrador, Canada. Port Union, Newfoundland And Labrador
Port Union is a historical community overlooking Trinity Bay and Catalina Harbour, on the east side of the Bonavista Peninsula, Newfoundland and Labrador, Canada. William Coaker founded the town as the base for the Fishermen's Protective Union in 1916. It was the base for the publication of the '' Fishermen's Advocate'' journal. In 1999, the original part of the town and the nearby hydroelectric plant were designated a National Historic Site of Canada. In 2005, Port Union was amalgamated with Catalina and Melrose to form the town of Trinity Bay North. In 2012, the local fish plant closed. George's Brook is a designated place in the Canadian province of Newfoundland and Labrador that is a neighbourhood in the Town of George's Brook-Milton. It is north of Clarenville. History A post office opened in George's Brook in 1950 with its first postmistress being Mona Pelley. By 1956 it had a population of 197. The 2019 Newfoundland and Labrador general election was held on May 16, 2019, to elect members of the 49th General Assembly of Newfoundland and Labrador. Despite consistent Progressive Conservative leads in polling towards the end of the campaign, including a nine-point lead in the final poll released a day before the election, the Liberal Party led by Dwight Ball won re-election, but nonetheless fell one seat short of retaining their majority after an unexpected loss to the New Democrats in Labrador West originally in the initial count by five votes.
