Craig Walter Brazell (born May 10, 1980) is an American former professional baseball player, where he played as a first baseman. Early life Brazell attended Jefferson Davis High School in Montgomery, Alabama. He hit .536 in his senior year to capture the All-Metro batting championship. He was drafted out of high school by the New York Mets as the 154th overall pick in the 5th round of the 1998 Major League Baseball Draft. Baseball career Brazell played in Rookie ball from 1998 to . A first baseman, abbreviated 1B, is the player on a baseball or softball team who fields the area nearest first base, the first of four bases a baserunner must touch in succession to score a run. Joe Bauman Home Run Award
The Joe Bauman Home Run Award, formerly known as the Round-Tripper-Award, is given to the Minor League Baseball player who hit the most regular season home runs that year. The award, first given in 2002, is named after Joe Bauman, who set a then–professional record with 72 home runs in 1954, while playing for the Roswell Rockets of the Class-C Longhorn League. The award was named for Bauman in 2004. It is presented by Musco Lighting at the Baseball Winter Meetings each December. The winner receives a check worth $200 for every home run hit. Wichita Wranglers
The Wichita Wranglers were a minor league baseball team based in Wichita, Kansas. The team, which played in the Texas League, was the Double-A affiliate of Major League Baseball's San Diego Padres from 1987 to 1994 and the Kansas City Royals from 1995 to 2007.
