Crack the Sky is an American progressive rock band formed in Weirton, West Virginia, in the early 1970s. Weirton () is a city in Brooke and Hancock counties in the U.S. state of West Virginia. Located primarily in Hancock County, the city lies in the northern portions of the state's Northern Panhandle region. As of the 2020 census, the city's population was 19,163. Supertramp
Supertramp were an English rock band that formed in London in 1969. Marked by the individual songwriting of founders Roger Hodgson (vocals, keyboards, and guitars) and Rick Davies (vocals and keyboards), they are distinguished for blending progressive rock and pop styles as well as for a sound that relied heavily on Wurlitzer electric piano. The group's lineup changed numerous times throughout their career, with Davies being the only consistent member throughout the decades. Other longtime members included bassist Dougie Thomson, drummer Bob Siebenberg, and saxophonist John Helliwell. ''Live Sky'' is a live concert album by American rock band Crack the Sky, released on LP in 1978 (see 1978 in music) by Lifesong Records (catalog #JZ 35620). In 1988, four of these recordings were appended to the CD release of ''Live on WBAB'' ("Maybe I Can Fool Everybody (Tonight)", "Lighten Up McGraw", "She's a Dancer", "I Am the Walrus"). In 2006, six of these recordings (remixed and remastered) were included on ''Alive and Kickin' Ass'', a live CD compiled from the same 1978 shows as ''Live Sky''. The version of "She's a Dancer" that appears on ''Live Sky'' was edited for length; the complete performance appears on ''Alive and Kickin' Ass''. ''Dog & Butterfly'' is the fourth studio album by American rock band Heart, released on October 7, 1978, by Portrait Records, following a legal dispute with Mushroom Records over the release of the band's second studio album, ''Magazine'', in April 1978. ''Dog & Butterfly'' peaked at number 17 on the US ''Billboard'' 200 and has been certified double platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA). The album spawned the singles " Straight On" and " Dog & Butterfly". As Heart themselves noted on the album's release, side one was the ''Dog'' side, and was the more "rocking" compared to the ''Butterfly'' side two, which consisted mostly of ballads, with the exception of the closer "Mistral Wind". Heart (band)
Heart is an American rock band formed in 1967 in Seattle, Washington, as The Army. Two years later they changed their name to Hocus Pocus. The year following they changed their name to White Heart, and eventually changed the name a final time to Heart, in 1973. By the mid-1970s, original members Roger Fisher (guitar) and Steve Fossen (bass guitar) had been joined by sisters Ann Wilson (lead vocals and flute) and Nancy Wilson (rhythm guitar, vocals), Michael Derosier (drums), and Howard Leese (guitar, keyboards and backing vocals) to form the lineup for the band's initial mid- to late-1970s success period. Edgar Holland Winter (born December 28, 1946) is an American musician. He is a multi-instrumentalist, playing keyboards, guitar, saxophone, and percussion, as well as singing. ZZ Top is an American rock band formed in 1969 in Houston, Texas. For 51 years, they comprised vocalist-guitarist Billy Gibbons, drummer Frank Beard and vocalist-bassist Dusty Hill, until Hill's death in 2021.
