Covers The Hits
''Covers the Hits'' is an album released in 2000 by American country music artist Sammy Kershaw. It is composed of ten cover songs, most of which were reprised from various tribute albums to which Kershaw contributed. Some of the material had been recorded by Kershaw on his studio albums, including "Third Rate Romance", a Top 5 hit for him in 1994. The final track, "Little Bit More", was unreleased, and was recorded by Kershaw during the sessions for his 1997 album '' Labor of Love''. Samuel Paul Kershaw (born February 24, 1958) is an American country music artist. He has released 16 studio albums, with three RIAA platinum certifications and two gold certifications among them. "If I Fell" is a song by English rock band the Beatles which first appeared in 1964 on the album '' A Hard Day's Night'' in the United Kingdom and United States, and on the North American album '' Something New''. It was written primarily by John Lennon and credited to Lennon–McCartney. "That's my first attempt at a ballad proper. ... "Memphis, Tennessee", sometimes shortened to "Memphis", is a song by Chuck Berry, first released in 1959. ''Red Hot + Country'' (or ''RH+C'') was the follow-up to ''No Alternative'' in the Red Hot Series of compilation albums, a series produced to raise awareness and money to fight AIDS/HIV as well as other related health and social issues. This compilation featured music from the classic country and classic rock genres performed by an assortment of seasoned old and new country music artists. ''RH+C'' received two Grammy nominations following its release. A live show was held at the Ryman Auditorium — home to the '' Grand Ole Opry''. Sammy Reginald Johns (February 7, 1946 – January 4, 2013) was an American singer and songwriter, best known for his million-selling 1975 hit single, "Chevy Van (song), Chevy Van".
