Cover My Song
''Cover My Song'' is a German television series broadcast on VOX channel and hosted by German hip hop artist Dennis Lisk also known by his stage name Denyo. The program is formatted on the successful Dutch television series ''Ali B op volle toeren'' that had premiered on the Dutch TROS channel. The first German series ran from 30 August 2011 until 11 October 2011 and included 7 episodes. Format The program is prepared as a " docutainment" (documentary entertainment) in which the viewers would learn about the story of German artists, follow their progress in their own words and discover their artistic process in making their hits. The host/presenter would invite in each episode an artist from the pop music tradition, and another artist from hip hop / rap tradition. They would pick a typical well-known song from the other artist's repertoire in a bid to prepare a "remake" / or cover version of the song and vice versa. Vox is a German free-to-air television channel launched on 25 January 1993 and owned by RTL Group. The channel mainly broadcasts documentaries and US series and movies. An integral part of the night program is the series ''Medical Detectives'' / ''Forensic Files'', which regularly gets very high ratings, sometimes up to 20%, which is rather unusual for the broadcaster. History VOX started transmitting on 25 January 1993, replacing Lifestyle. It competed with public television by broadcasting many live and informational programmes. Cindy & Bert
Cindy and Bert were a German schlager vocal duo from Völklingen, Saarland consisting of Jutta Gusenberger (born 26 January 1948) and Norbert Berger (12 September 1945 – 14 July 2012). They were most successful in the 1970s, and are known for their participation in the 1974 Eurovision Song Contest. Early career Gusenberger and Berger started singing together in 1965, and were married in 1967. They signed a recording contract in 1969, with singles being regularly issued, notably "Der Hund von Baskerville", an unlikely cover version of Black Sabbath's "Paranoid" which has become a collector's curiosity. Ireen Sheer
Ireen Sheer (born 25 February 1949) is a German-English singer. She had a top five hit on the GfK Entertainment Charts, German singles chart with "Goodbye Mama" in 1973. She went on to finish fourth at the Eurovision Song Contest 1974 representing Luxembourg in the Eurovision Song Contest, Luxembourg, sixth at the Eurovision Song Contest 1978 representing Germany in the Eurovision Song Contest, Germany, and thirteenth at the Eurovision Song Contest 1985 representing Luxembourg again.
