Coupe de France de robotique is a robotics competition held in La Roche-sur-Yon , France, organized by Planète Sciences. History The Coupe de France de robotique (former "E = M6 Cup of robotics", from the Science TV show) is a competition coorganized since 2016 by the association Planète Sciences and the mixed economy company Oryon. The French Robotics Cup was created in 1994, originally, in partnership with the company VM Productions, (producer until 2005 of the show E = M6), and the associatioPlanète Sciences The idea comes from Nicolas Goldzahl (then president of VM Productions) who was inspired by a creative class of Professor Woodie Flowers of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). La Roche-sur-Yon () is a commune in the Vendée department in the Pays de la Loire region in western France. It is the capital of the department. The demonym for its inhabitants is ''Yonnais''. Woodie Flowers
Woodie Claude Flowers (November 18, 1943 – October 11, 2019) was a professor of mechanical engineering at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. His specialty areas were engineering design and product development; he held the Pappalardo Professorship and was a MacVicar Faculty Fellow. Flowers was known for co-creating FIRST, a youth organization known primarily for operating FIRST Robotics Competition and other student engineering competitions. Working with inventor Dean Kamen, Flowers helped design the organization's competition structure based loosely around his 2.70 class at MIT. La Ferté-Bernard () is a commune in the Sarthe department in the Pays de la Loire region in north-western France. History La Ferté-Bernard owes its origin and name to a stronghold (''fermeté'') built about the 11th century and afterwards held by the family of Bernard. Eurobot
Eurobot is an international robotics contest dedicated to universities and robotics clubs. History Eurobot, whose first edition took place in May 1998 in Paris was created by Nicolas Goldzahl (president of VM Productions) with the help of the associatioPlanet Science 4 years after the creation of the French cup of Robotics.
