County Route 547 (New Jersey)
County Route 547 (CR 547) is a county highway in the U.S. state of New Jersey. The highway extends from Route 70 in Lakehurst to the intersection of Broadway and Myrtle Avenue in Long Branch. Near its southern terminus, it passes the East Gate of Joint Base McGuire–Dix–Lakehurst, known as Lakehurst Naval Air Station in the past, and the site of the crash of the Hindenburg in 1937. Route description Ocean County CR 547 begins at an intersection with Route 70 in Lakehurst, Ocean County, heading northeast on two-lane undivided Lakehurst-Lakewood Road. New Jersey Route 88
Route 88 is a state highway in the northern part of Ocean County, New Jersey, United States. It runs from an intersection with U.S. Route 9 (US 9) and County Route 547 (CR 547) in Lakewood Township to an intersection with Route 35 in Point Pleasant. It is a two-lane undivided road that passes through mostly residential and commercial areas. The route intersects CR 549 in Lakewood, Route 70 in Brick Township at the former Laurelton Circle, and CR 549 Spur in Point Pleasant. Metedeconk River
The Metedeconk River is a tributary of Barnegat Bay in Ocean County, New Jersey in the United States. The Metedeconk River flows from its U.S. Geological Survey. Lake Carasaljo
A man-made lake in the center of Lakewood Township, New Jersey, Lake Carasaljo was created in the mid-1700s when the South Branch of the Metedeconk River was dammed to provide power for a sawmill, which became known as Three Partners Mill. The lake was given its present name in 1865, when the town was renamed from Bergen Iron Works to Bricksburg. Lake Carasaljo is named after the three daughters of the owner of the Bergen Iron Works, Joseph Woolston Brick, for whom Brick Township, New Jersey is named. His daughters were named Caroline (nicknamed 'Carrie'), Sarah ('Sally') and Josephine ('Jo'). Brick's wife Manetta lent her name to its sister lake, which was created when the Watering Place Branch was dammed in 1816. Local legend is that the three girls drowned in the lake, which was subsequently named after them. Historical documents show the three girls were alive when the lake was named. A concurrency in a road network is an instance of one physical roadway bearing two or more different route numbers. When two roadways share the same right-of-way, it is sometimes called a common section or commons. Other terminology for a concurrency includes overlap, coincidence, duplex (two concurrent routes), triplex (three concurrent routes), multiplex (any number of concurrent routes), dual routing or triple routing. Concurrent numbering can become very common in jurisdictions that allow it. Where multiple routes must pass between a single mountain crossing or over a bridge, or through a major city, it is often economically and practically advantageous for them all to be accommodated on a single physical roadway. County Route 528 (New Jersey)
County Route 528 (CR 528) is a county highway in the U.S. state of New Jersey. The highway is designated from Farnsworth Avenue ( CR 545) in Bordentown to Ocean Avenue ( Route 35) in Mantoloking. The eastern end of the highway sustained extensive damage in 2012 when an inlet opened between Barnegat Bay and the Atlantic Ocean during Hurricane Sandy, scouring away the road east of the Mantoloking Bridge. The bridge and Route 35 intersection fully reopened in February 2013. County Route 527 (CR 527) is a county highway in the U.S. state of New Jersey. The highway extends from Main Street ( Route 166 and CR 549) in Toms River Township to Pompton Avenue ( Route 23) in Cedar Grove. It passes through more counties (six) than any other county route in New Jersey. CR 527 is also the second longest 500-series county route in New Jersey after Route 519. Jackson Township is a township in Ocean County, New Jersey, United States. As of the 2020 United States census, the township population was 58,544. A portion of the township is located within the New Jersey Pine Barrens. A dual carriageway ( BE) or divided highway ( AE) is a class of highway with carriageways for traffic travelling in opposite directions separated by a central reservation (BrE) or median (AmE). Roads with two or more carriageways which are designed to higher standards with controlled access are generally classed as motorways, freeways, etc., rather than dual carriageways. A road without a central reservation is a single carriageway regardless of the number of lanes.
