County Cup
The county football associations are the local governing bodies of association football in England and the Crown dependencies. County FAs exist to govern all aspects of football in England. They are responsible for administering club and player registration as well as promoting development amongst those bodies and referees. Most of the county FAs align roughly along historic county boundaries, although some cover more than one county, and some of the major cities, particularly those with a strong football tradition, have their own FAs. The Sheffield FA was the first to be created, in 1867. Several institutions have county FA status in their own right, including each branch of the British Armed Forces, English Schools, and the Amateur Football Alliance, which has a strong presence in the south-east of England. Association football, more commonly known as football or soccer, is a team sport played between two teams of 11 players who primarily use their feet to propel the ball around a rectangular field called a pitch. The objective of the game is to score more goals than the opposition by moving the ball beyond the goal line into a rectangular framed goal defended by the opposing side. The Army Football Association (Army FA) is a county football association affiliated to The Football Association of England, for the administration of football within the British Army in the United Kingdom, Cyprus and Germany. The Army FA is based at Clayton Barracks in Aldershot, Hampshire. The Cumberland Football Association, is the governing body of football in the ancient county of Cumberland, England and was founded in 1884. The Cumberland FA run a number of cups at different levels for teams all across North Cumbria. South Cumbria is covered by the Lancashire FA. The Cornwall County Football Association Senior Cup, commonly known as the Cornwall Senior Cup, is a knockout cup competition in English football for clubs based in Cornwall, run by and named after the Cornwall County Football Association. It is a County Cup competition involving clubs from the South West Peninsula League, East Cornwall League and Cornwall Combination. As of the 2015–16 season, the competition is called the RGB Senior Cup for sponsorship reasons. The Birmingham Senior Cup is a football competition for Birmingham County FA club teams, organised by the Birmingham County Football Association. It began in 1876 and is the oldest county cup competition still active. The Birmingham Senior Cup is a regional cup contest, which has featured all of the West Midlands' big clubs, Aston Villa, Birmingham City, Burton Albion, Coventry City, Port Vale, Stoke City, West Bromwich Albion, Walsall and Wolverhampton Wanderers.
