Counter Intuitive Records is an American independent record label based in Boston, Massachusetts known for working with bands such as Oso Oso, Mom Jeans, Sleeping Patterns and Prince Daddy & The Hyena. The label has also handled distribution for artists such as The Hotelier. History The label was started in 2015 by Jake Sulzer, shortly after his college graduation. After stumbling across a demo by the band Bay Faction, Sulzer offered them a record contract. Gaining most traction from releasing the debut record of California band Mom Jeans Mom jeans is an informal term for high-waisted women's jeans that were first fashionable in the late 1980s and early 1990s. In the late 1990s and 2000s they were mainly worn by adult American women and considered "old" by younger women. Indie rock is a Music subgenre, subgenre of rock music that originated in the United States, United Kingdom and New Zealand from the 1970s to the 1980s. Originally used to describe independent record labels, the term became associated with the music they produced and was initially used interchangeably with alternative rock or "Pop rock, guitar pop rock". Toy Cars was an American rock band from Asbury Park, New Jersey. History Toy Cars was a four-piece indie punk rock band from Asbury Park, New Jersey, that formed in 2014. Prior to Toy Cars, Chris Beninato and Matteo DeBenedetti played in the band Monterey, Caponegro played in Hodera, and Linardi played in Deal Casino. Kississippi is the solo pop and indie folk project of Philadelphia-based singer-songwriter Zoe Allaire Reynolds. History Zoe Reynolds recorded her first acoustic demos – which later became the 2014 EP ''I Can Feel You in my Hair Still'' — in her mom's laundry room, and the EP's online release received early attention from music publications.
