Coulee Conference
The Coulee Conference is a seven-member high school athletic conference in the La Crosse, Wisconsin area. It is affiliated with the Wisconsin Interscholastic Athletic Association. Conference schools have enrollments ranging from 236 to 540, with an average enrollment of 395. Beginning in 2014, West Salem will compete in the Mississippi Valley Conference for football only. With the announcement and passing of football-only conference realignments by the WIAA, the Coulee Conference will be temporarily split up for the 2019 football season. In the 2020 football season, the Coulee Conference will return, but Luther will join the Scenic Bluffs Conference. The Altoona Railroaders of the Cloverbelt Conference and Aquinas Blugolds (La Crosse) of the Mississippi Valley Conference will join the Coulee for football only. Wisconsin Interscholastic Athletic Association
The Wisconsin Interscholastic Athletic Association (WIAA) is the regulatory body for all high school sports in Wisconsin. Its history dates to 1895, making it the earliest continually existing high school athletic organization in the country. It also provides the licensing program for more than 10,000 officials in the state, and oversees junior high or middle school athletics in about 100 of the state's nearly 400 school districts. Onalaska is a city in La Crosse County, Wisconsin, United States. The population was 18,803 at the 2020 census. It borders the larger La Crosse, Wisconsin, and is a part of the La Crosse-Onalaska, WI-MN Metropolitan Area. Onalaska is built on a slightly elevated ridge above the Black River. Luther High School is a parochial school located in Onalaska, Wisconsin. It is associated with the Wisconsin Evangelical Lutheran Synod. Gale-Ettrick-Trempealeau High School (abbreviated as G-E-T, and formerly Galesville High School and Gale-Ettrick High School) is a public high school in Galesville, Wisconsin.
