"Costumbres" is a song written and produced by Juan Gabriel and performed by Spanish singer Rocío Dúrcal. It was recorded for her studio album ''Canta A Juan Gabriel Volumen 6''. The song was released by Ariola Records in 1985, as a B-side to "Jamas Te Prometí un Jardin de Rosas". Selena version In 1988, Selena y los Dinos covered "Costumbres" in their album ''Dulce Amor''. It was the third and final single released from the album. Selena re-recorded the song in 1990 for her album "16 Super Exitos Originales" , a compilation album looking back at her hits prior to signing a record deal with Capitol EMI Latin. It was then later included on ''Siempre Selena'' in a remix version. The track was released as a single in late 1996. María de los Ángeles de las Heras Ortiz (4 October 1944 – 25 March 2006), better known professionally as Rocío Dúrcal (), was a Spanish singer and actress. Widely successful in Mexico, she earned the sobriquet of ''Reina de las Rancheras'' ("Queen of Rancheras"). In 2005 Dúrcal received a Latin Grammy Award for musical excellence, a prize that is awarded by the Governing Board of the Recording Latin Academy to artists who have made creative contributions of outstanding artistic significance during their careers. Linda Viera Caballero (born March 9, 1969), better known as La India, is a Puerto Rican singer and songwriter of salsa, house music and Latin pop. La India has been nominated for both Grammy and Latin Grammy Awards, winning the Latin Grammy Award for Best Salsa Album for the ''Intensamente La India Con Canciones De Juan Gabriel'' album. Early life Caballero was born in Río Piedras, Puerto Rico. Both her parents moved to New York City soon after her birth, settling in the South Bronx area of the city.
