Costruzione Italiana Macchine Attrezzi (CIMA, "Italian Machine Tool Company") is an Italian gear, powertrain, and transmission manufacturer based in Bologna. CIMA was founded in 1942 as a manufacturer of gear machining equipment before producing its own gears in 1946. Beginning in the 1950s CIMA supplied gears for automobile and motorcycle racing applications, including Scuderia Ferrari, Porsche, Harley-Davidson, Minarelli, and Honda. In 1980 what is now the purchased CIMA, who went on to expand the into more machinery markets as well as marine applications. In the 90s, CIMA expanded its reach to the aeronautical industry and found more success in racing. After advancing their low pressure vacuum carburizing and gas quenching methods in 2002, CIMA developed even higher performance transmissions for road and race applications. Carburising, carburizing (chiefly American English), or carburisation is a heat treatment process in which iron or steel absorbs carbon while the metal is heated in the presence of a carbon-bearing material, such as charcoal or carbon monoxide. The intent is to make the metal harder. Depending on the amount of time and temperature, the affected area can vary in carbon content. Koenigsegg CC8S
The Koenigsegg CC8S is a mid-engine sports car produced by the Swedish automobile manufacturer Koenigsegg. It was the company's first production automobile and the first production car to use the company's trademark dihedral synchro-helix actuation doors. The Hennessey Venom F5 is a sports car developed and manufactured by the American vehicle-manufacturing company Hennessey Special Vehicles which was established in 2017. Apollo Arrow
The Apollo Arrow is a mid-engine, 2-seater concept car developed by Apollo Automobil. It was introduced in 2016 at the Geneva Motor Show. Spur Gear
Spur gears or straight-cut gears are the simplest type of gear. They consist of a cylinder or disk with teeth projecting radially. Viewing the gear at 90 degrees from the shaft length (side on) the tooth faces are straight and aligned parallel to the axis of rotation.
