Cosmic Wars
is a turn-based strategy video game produced by Konami in 1989 which is based upon the characters and conflicts of the popular ''Gradius'' series. It was released only in Japan. The game received a sequel in 1997, with ''Paro Wars'', which is the ''Parodius'' equivalent of this game. The object of ''Cosmic Wars'' is to use an army composed of ''Gradius'' characters (Vic Vipers, and Big Cores) and battle enemies in various star systems. The player can be either the Bacterion Empire or the forces of Gradius. There are many different unit types, ranging from small fighters to large capital ships. Parodius (series)
is a series of cute 'em ups developed and published by Konami. The games are tongue-in-cheek parodies of ''Gradius'', and also feature characters from many other Konami franchises. Video games There are six games in the Parodius series. The last of them, ''Paro Wars'', is a spin-off strategy game. The only games released outside Japan are ''From Myth to Laughter'' and ''Fantastic Journey'', which received European localizations. None of them were released in the Americas. is a turn-based strategy video game produced by Konami in September 1997 in Japan only (with the re-release as a Konami the Best title in December 1999).
