Cory Carter
Cory Carter (born March 5, 1994) is a former American football punter. He played college football at Texas Southern. Professional career Houston Texans On January 2, 2017, Carter signed a reserve/future contract with the Houston Texans. He was waived on September 2, 2017. Buffalo Bills On December 5, 2017, Carter was signed to the Buffalo Bills' practice squad. He signed a reserve/future contract with the Bills on January 8, 2018. Carter entered the 2018 preseason competing with veteran Colton Schmidt. In the second preseason game, Carter suffered a knee injury after being hit following a punt. He was diagnosed with a torn ACL the following day and was then placed on injured reserve. On August 26, 2019, Carter was released by the Bills. Punter (football)
A punter (P) in gridiron football is a special teams player who receives the snapped ball directly from the line of scrimmage and then punts (kicks) the football to the opposing team so as to limit any field position advantage. This generally happens on a fourth down in American football and a third down in Canadian football. Punters may also occasionally take part in fake punts in those same situations, when they throw or run the football instead of punting. Skills and usage The purpose of the punt is to force the team that is receiving the kick to start as far as possible from the kicking team's end zone. XFL (2020)
The XFL is a professional American football minor league consisting of eight teams located across the United States in mid-sized to major markets served by at least one other major professional sports team. Seasons run from February to April, with each team playing a ten-game regular season, and four progressing to the playoffs to crown a season champion. It is headquartered in Arlington, Texas. Colton Schmidt (born October 27, 1990) is an American football punter who is a free agent. He entered the National Football League (NFL) in 2013 when he signed with the San Francisco 49ers as an undrafted free agent in 2013. He played for the Buffalo Bills in four seasons. Professional career San Francisco 49ers Schmidt signed with the San Francisco 49ers as an undrafted free agent, following the 2013 NFL Draft, on July 15, 2013. He was waived on August 2, but re-signed with the team on a three-year contract four days later. He was cut by the team after the third preseason game of 2013. Raymond is a city in Hinds County, Mississippi, United States. As of the 2010 census, the city population was 1,933; in 2020, its population was 1,960. Raymond is one of two county seats of Hinds County (along with Jackson) and is the home of the main campus of Hinds Community College. Raymond is part of the Jackson metropolitan statistical area.
