Halfway is a rock band from Brisbane, Australia. the group have released eight studio albums, most recently ''On the Ghostline, with Hands of Lightning'', released in August 2022. Previous to this the band released, ''Restless Dream'' (2021), which was a collaboration between Halfway and Aboriginal Australian elder, Bob Weatherall. History Halfway was formed in 2000 by John Busby, Elwin Hawtin, Ben Johnson and Chris Dale in Windsor, Brisbane. The lineup was later rounded out with the addition of Dublin-born brothers Noel Fitzpatrick (pedal steel) and Liam Fitzpatrick (banjo/mandolin). Three of the bands founding members, John Busby, Elwin Hawtin and Chris Dale all originally hail from the Central Queensland town of Rockhampton. Halfway's debut album ''Farewell to the Fainthearted'' was released in 2003 to warm critical acclaim. Halfway is a city in Baker County, Oregon, United States. The city took its name from the location of its post office, on the Alexander Stalker ranch, halfway between Pine and Jim Town. The population was 288 at the 2010 census. During the dot-com bubble, Halfway agreed to rename itself Half.com for a year as a publicity stunt for the e-commerce company of the same name. History The community was named for the fact it is roughly halfway between Pine and Cornucopia. While a post office was established in 1887, the town was platted in another location in 1907, the post office moved there in 1908, and it incorporated in 1909. Mosborough is an electoral ward of the City of Sheffield, England, in the eastern part of the city, on the border with North East Derbyshire District. The population in 2011 was 17,097. It is one of the wards that make up the Sheffield South East constituency. Halfway () is a village in County Cork, in Ireland. Halfway got its name from being situated approximately halfway between Cork City and Bandon. Halfway is situated on the L2231, just off the N71, close to the neighbouring village of Ballinhassig. Ballinhassig Garda station is located in Halfway. Halfway formerly had two pubs; however, there is now only the Ramble Inn pub. There is also an angling shop. The annual Halfway Vintage Rally, a meeting of vintage car owners and enthusiasts, takes place over one weekend in September. Halfway, South Lanarkshire
Halfway is a largely suburban area in the town of Cambuslang, Scotland, located within the local authority area of South Lanarkshire. It borders the smaller areas of Lightburn, Cairns, Flemington, Drumsagard and Hallside. Halfway is the largest component of the Cambuslang East ward of South Lanarkshire Council which has an overall population of around 16,000. History and amenities The district was named in the days of the Glasgow to Hamilton stagecoach when passengers would stop halfway between the destinations to change the horses, have a rest etc. There is a long history of coal mining in the area (especially around Flemington), but no colliery is still in operation. It also has the older name of ''Gilbertfield'', referring to the nearby ruined 'castle' of that name (as it is known locally - it is, in fact, a stately home) which still stands to the south.
