Cornishware is a striped kitchenware brand trademarked to and manufactured by T.G. Green & Co Ltd. Originally introduced in the 1920s and manufactured in Church Gresley, Derbyshire, it was a huge success for the company and in the succeeding 30 years it was exported around the world. The company ceased production in June 2007 when the factory closed under the ownership of parent company The Tabletop Group. The range was revived in 2009 after T.G. Green was bought by a trio of British investors. Name The name "Cornish Kitchen Ware" was said to have come from an observation by a T.G Green salesmen that the blue colour used to decorate the dishware reminded him of the sky and sea in Cornwall. However, the T.G.Green Museum have now disproved this as travel to Cornwall from Church Gresley at that time was virtually impossible. Iain M Hambling
Iain M. Hambling is the historian and archivist of English pottery company T G Green & Co Ltd (1864 – 2007), manufacturers of Cornishware, a striped kitchenware brand. The company was based at Church Gresley, Derbyshire. Activities as historian and archivist Starting as a collector of Cornishware in 1991, his collection grew and was largely featured in Paul Atterbury's first Cornish Ware & Domestic Pottery book. First discussing Cornishware on the BBC's ''Antiques Roadshow'' (series 19, 1996–7), he went on to make another two appearances with other T G Green designs and later a half-hour programme on Channel 4, ''Collectors' Lot''. There was an active Collectors' Club between 1996 and 2001, for which Hambling wrote and advised in 'Iain's Corner'. Perry Haydn Taylor (born 1966) is an English creative director, designer and entrepreneur, who lives in Somerset and works in London. He is the founder and "chief stoker" of Big Fish Design, a brand, design and marketing consultancy. Church Gresley
Church Gresley is a large village and former civil parish in the South Derbyshire district of Derbyshire, England. The village is situated between Castle Gresley and the town of Swadlincote, with which it is contiguous. By the time of the 2011 Census the village was a ward of Swadlincote, of which it is now effectively a suburb, and the population of Church Gresley ward was 6,881. The Tabletop Group
The Tabletop Group was based in Nottinghamshire, England, and comprised three companies: The Tabletop Company, Mason Cash, and T. G. Green. The group was formed in April 2004 when The Tabletop Company purchased Mason Cash, which had previously purchased T. G. Green in 2001. The Tabletop Group went into administration in 2007 and the receivers dismantled and sold off the factory and goods. The group manufactured kitchenware and tableware for sale mostly in Europe, North America, and Oceania. John Tenniel
