Cornel Lucas
Cornel Lucas (12 September 19208 November 2012) was a British photographer, who as a film still photographer was a pioneer of film portraiture in the 1940s and 1950s. He was the first photographer to win a BAFTA in 1998 for Services to British Film Industry. Cornel Lucas published two books of his work, ''Heads and Tales'' and ''Shooting Stars''. Exhibited internationally. Permanent collection at National Portrait Gallery (London), National Media Museum and London's Photographers' Gallery Cornel Lucas photographed many movies stars in the late forties and fifties including Marlene Dietrich, David Niven, Gregory Peck, Robert Newton, Joan Collins, Yvonne de Carlo, Diana Dors (in a gondola in Venice). A unit still photographer, or simply a still photographer, is a person who creates film stills, still photographic images specifically intended for use in the marketing and publicity of feature films in the motion picture industry and network television productions. Besides creating photographs for the promotion of a film, the still photographer contributes daily to the filming process by creating set stills. With these, the photographer is careful to record all details of the cast wardrobe, set appearance and background. Yvonne De Carlo
Margaret Yvonne Middleton (September 1, 1922January 8, 2007), known professionally as Yvonne De Carlo, was a Canadian-American actress, dancer and singer. She became a Hollywood film star in the 1940s and 1950s, made several recordings, and later acted on television and stage. Born in Vancouver, British Columbia, De Carlo was enrolled by her mother in a local dance school when she was three. By the early 1940s, she and her mother had moved to Los Angeles, where De Carlo participated in beauty contests and worked as a dancer in nightclubs. She began working in motion pictures in 1941, in short subjects. Charlotte Lucas (born 29 May 1976) is an English actress, painter and therapist. Early life Born into an acting family, Lucas is the granddaughter of Linden Travers, who appeared in Alfred Hitchcock's ''The Lady Vanishes'' and Guy Leon. Susan Travers (born 18 February 1939) is a retired British film and television actress. She is the daughter of the actress Linden Travers and a niece of Bill Travers, and cousin of actress Penelope Wilton. A profile for the British Film Institute's Screenonline website asserts: "of all the Rank Organisation's starlets, Belinda Lee stands out as the most notorious, yet paradoxically anonymous, British actress of the 1950s." Diana Dors (born Diana Mary Fluck; 23 October 19314 May 1984) was an English actress and singer. Dors came to public notice as a blonde bombshell, much in the style of Americans Marilyn Monroe, Jayne Mansfield and Mamie Van Doren. Dors was promoted by her first husband, Dennis Hamilton, mostly in sex film-comedies and risqué modelling. Dame Joan Henrietta Collins (born 23 May 1933) is an English actress, author and columnist.
