Cornbury Music Festival
Cornbury Music Festival is an annual music festival that takes place in Great Tew Park in Oxfordshire, England. History Cornbury Festival was founded by music promoter Hugh Phillimore. It was originally set up on Robin Cayzer, 3rd Baron Rotherwick’s Oxfordshire estate, Cornbury Park, and has been given the nickname “Poshstock” in national press. The festival moved to Great Tew Park in 2011. Cornbury Park
Cornbury Park is an estate near Charlbury, Oxfordshire. It comprises about 5000 acres, mostly farmland and woods, including a remnant of the Wychwood Forest, and was the original venue for the Cornbury Music Festival and later the Wilderness Festival. History Cornbury used to be a royal hunting estate. The park is first mentioned in the Domesday book as a "demesne forest of the king", which was used for the hunting of deer. Cornbury House Cornbury House is a two-storey, eleven-bay Grade I listed English country house. Great Tew
Great Tew is an English village and civil parish in Oxfordshire, about north-east of Chipping Norton and south-west of Banbury. The 2011 Census gave a parish population of 156. This qualifies it for an annual parish meeting, not a monthly parish council. The village has largely belonged since the 1980s to the Johnston family, as the Great Tew Estate, with renovations and improvements. A news report in 2020 stated that David Beckham and Victoria Beckham owned a "£6m Great Tew country home", Maplewood Barn, formerly Park Barn. Great Tew had 87 Grade II listed buildings in 2021. Herbert Robin Cayzer, 3rd Baron Rotherwick (born 12 March 1954) is a British landowner and estate manager. He sat as a hereditary peer in the House of Lords for the Conservative Party (UK), Conservative Party, from 1996 until his retirement in 2022. Early life Robin Cayzer was born on 12 March 1954.
