Corn Belt Conference
The Corn Belt Conference was a high school athletic conference in the Illinois High School Association (IHSA), based in Central Illinois. The conference consisted of medium-sized and small high schools. History The Corn Belt Conference was originally formed in 1950 by Clinton, Normal Community, Pontiac Township, Trinity (later Central Catholic), and University High Schools. The conference was incorporated into the former Heart of Illinois Conference in 1972 but was reformed in 1978. Eureka High School left the Corn Belt Conference for the Heart of Illinois Conference after the 2015–2016 school year. U-High and Mahomet-Seymour departed for the Central State Eight Conference and Apollo Conference respectively in the 2017–18 school year. High School
A secondary school describes an institution that provides secondary education and also usually includes the building where this takes place. Normal is a town in McLean County, Illinois, United States. As of the 2020 census, the town's population was 52,736. Eureka High School (commonly called Eureka High or EHS) is a public secondary school in Eureka, Illinois, United States. The school is part of Eureka Community Unit District 140, with admission based primarily on the locations of students' homes. Communities supported include Eureka, Goodfield, Secor, and Congerville. Stanford is a village in McLean County, Illinois, United States. The population was 596 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Bloomington–Normal Metropolitan Statistical Area. History The beginnings of Stanford Stanford was platted, under the name of Allin, on December 14, 1867. Its founder was John Armstrong (January 20, 1820 - August 7, 1912). It was founded when the Jacksonville Division of the Chicago Alton and St. Louis Railroad was extended westward from Bloomington. The McLean County town of Covell was founded, within a few months of Allen, as a station on the same railroad. In 1870 the name of the town was changed to Stanford. Washington Community High School
Washington Community High School (WCHS) is a public high school located in Washington, Illinois. The district, Washington Community High School District 308, was first chartered in 1920, but the current high school on Bondurant Street was opened in 1942 with an enrollment of 230. there are 1359 students enrolled at WCHS. The 1950s to 1970s saw rapid expansion in the student body and in campus development. The additions made in 1956, 1961, and 1962 tripled the size of the original building. During 1974 and 1975 the James Ashbrook building and new library were added. In 1977 the size of the student body reached 1720 students. In 2010 a multi-million bond ticket was passed to add the now brand new Multi-Purpose Room in the old teachers parking lot, thus connecting the main building, Ashbrook Tech and Torry Gym together, eliminating the need for students wearing PE uniforms to have to walk outside in the dead of winter with a t-shirt and shorts.
