Cormac Kennedy-Leverett
Cormac Kennedy-Leverett (born 28 March 2000) is an Australian representative rower. He was a 2017 Junior World Champion, has represented at U23 World Championships and made the Australian senior squad in 2023. Club and state rowing Kennedy-Leverett attended The Southport School on the Gold Coast in Queensland where he took up rowing. His senior club rowing has been from Griffith University's Surfers Paradise Rowing Club. He first made Queensland state selection in the 2018 youth eight which competed for the Noel Wilkinson Trophy at the Interstate Regatta within the Australian Rowing Championships. In 2019 he was selected in the Queensland men's senior eight to contest the King's Cup. He made further King's Cup selections for Queensland in 2021 and 2022. Rowing (sport)
Rowing, sometimes called crew in the United States, is the sport of racing boats using oars. It differs from paddling sports in that rowing oars are attached to the boat using oarlocks, while paddles are not connected to the boat. Rowing is divided into two disciplines: sculling and sweep rowing. In sculling, each rower holds two oars—one in each hand, while in sweep rowing each rower holds one oar with both hands. There are several boat classes in which athletes may compete, ranging from single sculls, occupied by one person, to shells with eight rowers and a coxswain, called eights. There are a wide variety of course types and formats of racing, but most elite and championship level racing is conducted on calm water courses long with several lanes marked using buoys. David Bartholot
David Bartholot (born 26 September 1995) is an Australian representative rower. He is an Australian national champion and represented in the double-scull at the 2019 and 2022 World Championships. Club and state rowing Bartholot was raised in Forster on the New South Wales Mid North Coast. He started rowing at Sydney University where he commenced studies in 2015. He was a resident at St Andrew's College and his senior club rowing has been from the Sydney University Boat Club. In 2018 in SUBC colours Bartholot contested the open men's single and double scull titles at the Australian Rowing Championships. In 2019 he contested the open men's single scull and won the open's men's quad scull national championship title in an SUBC/ANU composite crew. Harley Moore (born 24 February 1995) is an Australian representative sweep-oar rower. He was a 2017 U23 World Champion and has represented at senior World Championships. Club and state rowing Moore attended St Joseph's College, Nudgee where he took up rowing. His senior club rowing has been from the Commercial Rowing Club in Brisbane. Henry Youl
Henry Youl (born 12 October 1995) is an Australian representative rower. He has represented at underage and senior World Championships and won a bronze medal at the 2022 World Championships. Club and state rowing Youl was raised in Tasmania. His Australian senior club rowing has been from the Tamar Rowing Club in Launceston and then following his selection to national squads, from the Sydney University Boat Club. International representative rowing Youl made his Australian representative debut as stroke of the coxless four at the 2016 U23 World Rowing Championships in Rotterdam. He led that crew to a bronze medal win. The following year Youl again stroked the Australian U23 coxless four at the U23 World Championships in Plovdiv. They finished overall fifth. Campbell Watts (born 10 November 1995) is an Australian rower. He is an Australian national champion who participated at the 2018 World Rowing Championships, where he won a silver medal. Club and state rowing Watts was educated at St Joseph's College Hunters Hill where he took up rowing. Watts' senior club rowing has been from the Sydney University Boat Club. He competed for the SUBC at the 2014 and 2015 Intervarsity Championships. In 2014 he rowed in the Sydney University eight and a coxed four and won both titles. Caleb Antill (born 8 August 1995) is an Australian representative rower. He is an Olympian, a multiple Australian national champion, was a 2016 U23 world champion and has represented at World Rowing Championships, winning medals in 2018 and 2022. He raced in the Australian men's quad scull at Tokyo 2021 to a bronze medal. Club and state rowing Antill's senior club rowing has been from the ANU Boat Club. World Junior Rowing Championships
The World Rowing Junior Championships is an international rowing regatta organized by FISA (the International Rowing Federation). A rower or coxswain shall be classified as a Junior until 31 December of the year in which he reaches the age of 18. After that date, he shall be classified as an Under 23 rower. During Olympic years it is held at the same location as the Senior World Rowing Championships. The first FISA Youth Regatta was held in 1967 and has been held every year since then, being raised to the status of FISA Junior Champs in 1970 and Junior World Champs in 1985. Many European countries send athletes not up to the standard for World Championships to the Coupe de la Jeunesse. Rowing World Cup
The World Rowing Cup is an international rowing competition organized by FISA (the International Rowing Federation). It began in 1997 and comprises three regattas (apart from in 2001 when there were four) held throughout early summer. In each event points are awarded to the top seven finishing boats and an overall winner determined after the last world cup regatta each year. During the regattas the current leader in each event must wear yellow bibs. The World Rowing Cup has only been staged outside Europe on 3 occasions, in 2001 Princeton and in both 2013 and 2014 Sydney. Fergus Hamilton
Fergus Hamilton (born 29 January 2000) is an Australian representative rower. He was a 2017 World Junior Champion and in 2023 made the Australian senior squad. Club and varsity rowing Hamilton attended Melbourne Grammar School where he took up rowing. He was Captain of Boats in his senior year. His senior club rowing has been from Melbourne's Mercantile Rowing Club. His father Richard Hamilton was an Olympian rower for Great Britain at Atlanta 1996. Fergus Hamilton won a place a Yale University to study environmental science. He rowed in the men's heavyweight crews in his freshman and second years.
