Cork Senior Football Championship
The Cork Premier Senior Football Championship (known for sponsorship reasons as the Bon Secours Cork Premier Senior Hurling Championship and abbreviated to the Cork PSFC) is an annual club Gaelic football competition organised by the Cork County Board of the Gaelic Athletic Association and contested by the top-ranking senior clubs and amalgamated teams in the county of Cork in Ireland, deciding the competition winners through a group and knockout format. It is the most prestigious competition in Cork Gaelic football. Introduced in 1887 as the Cork Senior Football Championship, it was initially a straight knockout tournament open only to senior-ranking club teams, with its winner reckoned as the Cork county champion. The competition took on its current name in 2020, adding a round-robin group stage for clubs and limiting the number divisional entrants to the championship proper. 2022 Cork Premier Senior Football Championship
The 2022 Cork Premier Senior Football Championship was the third staging of the Cork Premier Senior Football Championship and the 134th staging overall of a championship for the top-ranking Gaelic football teams in Cork. The championship ran from 9 June to 30 October 2022. St. Finbarr's entered the championship as the defending champions. Newcestown's relegation after a playoff defeat by Éire Óg ended 11 years of top tier football for the club. The final was played on 30 October 2022 at Páirc Uí Chaoimh in Cork, between Nemo Rangers and St. Finbarr's, in what was their third ever meeting in the final overall and a first meeting in five years. Nemo Rangers won the match by 1-16 to 2-09 to claim their 23rd championship title overall and a first title in two years. Luke Connolly and Brian Hurley were the championship's joint-top scorers. St Finbarr's National Hurling & Football Club
St Finbarr's National Hurling & Football Club or St Finbarr's Hurling and Football Club is a Gaelic Athletic Association club based in the Togher area of Cork city, County Cork, Ireland. St Finbarr's, who play in royal blue and gold jerseys, are the only club in Ireland to win All-Ireland club championships in both hurling and football. The club has won Cork County Senior Championships in every decade except the first decade of the 21st century. This record was almost upheld in 2009 when the club reached the final in the Cork County Senior Football Championship, only to lose out by a point to Clonakilty. Between 1980 and 1982, the club won three Cork County Hurling Championships in a row. This feat had not been repeated until Imokilly did so between 2017 and 2019. Tracton GAA
Tracton GAA is a Gaelic Athletic Association club based in the parish of Tracton in Cork, Republic of Ireland. The club is a member of the Carrigdhoun division of Cork GAA. The club fields teams in both Gaelic football and hurling, though it has won most success in hurling. The club's pitch is in the village of Minane Bridge. History The club was founded in 1888, only 4 years after the foundation of the Gaelic Athletic Association. The pitch located at Ahane in Minane Bridge has been Tracton's permanent home since 1973. Dressing rooms were erected and a clubhouse consisting of a concert hall and meeting rooms was completed in 1978. Further developments included the development of a new pitch to the west of the clubhouse in 2001, development of a ball alley in 2005 and the laying of a sand-based pitch in 2010. Midleton GAA
Midleton Hurling and Football Club is a Gaelic Athletic Association club based in the town of Midleton in County Cork, Ireland. The club plays in the Imokilly division of Cork GAA. History The concept of a Gaelic Athletic Association was first mooted in 1883 when a sub-committee of the Irish Republican Brotherhood was formed with the ideal of creating a National Athletic body. Midleton man, P.N Fitzgerald was one of the committee members who eventually set up the Gaelic Athletic Association and thus Midleton's love affair and commitment to the G.A.A. was established. Lisgoold GAA Club is a gaelic football, hurling and ladies football club based in the village of Lisgoold, County Cork, Ireland. The club was founded in 1886 and was primarily concerned with the game of Gaelic football.
