Charente (river)
The Charente (; oc, Charanta ) is a long river in southwestern France. Its source is in the Haute-Vienne ''département'' at Chéronnac, a small village near Rochechouart. It flows through the departments of Haute-Vienne, Charente, Vienne and Charente-Maritime. The river flows into the Atlantic Ocean near Rochefort. Navigation The Charente was described by the French king François I as 'the most beautiful river in the kingdom', and was navigable in its natural state until mills were erected at many locations in the 14th century. Some locks were built but through navigation remained impossible for centuries. Improvements to the navigation were projected under Louis XVI in 1772, but work was interrupted by the Revolution. The project was revived under the Restoration and canalisation completed in 1835. The waterway was abandoned in 1957. Coran Capshaw
Robert Coran Capshaw is an American music industry executive and entrepreneur. He is the manager of Dave Matthews Band, Phish, Lady A, Trey Anastasio and Chris Stapleton among others. Capshaw founded Red Light Management and co-founded ATO Records. He is also a real estate developer. Biography Capshaw got his start as a music manager in the early 1990s when he was the owner of a bar in Charlottesville, VA called "Trax". In 1992, he gave the Dave Matthews Band their first weekly gig (which lasted from 1992 to 1993). From there, he began managing Dave Matthews Band and helped launch their career, bringing them from local bar band to international fame. Capshaw has won the Pollstar Magazine's "Manager of the Year" award five times in 1998, 2003, 2010, 2018 and 2019. The Moorish Science Temple of America is an American national and religious organization founded by Noble Drew Ali (born as Timothy Drew) in the early twentieth century. He based it on the premise that African Americans are descendants of the Moabites and thus are "Moorish" (sometimes also spelled "Muurish" by adherents) by nationality, and Islamic by faith. Ali put together elements of major traditions to develop a message of personal transformation through historical education, racial pride and spiritual uplift.
