Cor Fuhler
Cornelis William Hendrik Fuhler (3 July 1964 – 19 July 2020) was a Dutch/Australian improvisor, composer, and instrument builder associated with free jazz, experimental music and acoustic ecology. He played piano by manipulating sound with electromagnetic string stimulators like Ebows and motorized actuators. Fuhler also performed on guitar, turntables and synthesizer. He invented the keyolin, a combination of keyboard and violin. Fuhler was a student of Misha Mengelberg of the Instant Composers Pool. He recorded the album ''Corkestra'' (Data, 2005) with Ab Baars, Tony Buck, Tobias Delius, Wilbert de Joode, Anne La Berge, Andy Moor, Nora Mulder, and Michael Vatcher. Cornelis (Cor) van Hout (18 August 1957 – 24 January 2003) was a Dutch criminal and mastermind of the kidnapping of beer magnate Freddy Heineken. Life Kidnapping and imprisonment During the abduction, Van Hout collaborated with Willem Holleeder, Frans Meijer, Martin Erkamps and Jan Boellaard. The five men abducted Freddy Heineken and his driver Ab Doderer in front of Heineken's office on 9 November 1983, after which they imprisoned the two men for a period of three weeks in a Quonset hut in Westpoort, a part of Amsterdam, asking a ransom for Heineken of 35 million guilders. After the release of the hostages on 30 November, Van Hout and Holleeder managed to escape. They both fled to Paris. However, the two men were arrested by the French police on 29 February 1984. Cor Van den Heuvel (born March 6, 1931) is an American haiku poet, editor and archivist. Biography Van den Heuvel was born in Biddeford, Maine, and grew up in Maine and New Hampshire. He lives on Long Island near his niece and still spends time writing and exploring natrure. He first discovered haiku in 1958 in San Francisco where he heard Gary Snyder mention it at a poetry reading. He returned to the East Coast the following year and continued composing haiku. He became the house poet of a Boston coffee house, reading haiku and other poetry to jazz musical accompaniment. In 1971 he joined the Haiku Society of America and became its president in 1978. Antonius Johannes Cornelius "Cor" Herkströter (born 21 August 1937) is a former chairman of Royal Dutch Shell. Cor Herkströter was born in Venlo. He studied economics and accountancy at the School of Economics in Rotterdam (now Erasmus University Rotterdam). Cornelius "Cor" Hemmers (born August 24, 1956 in Breda) is a Dutch kickboxing trainer associated with the Golden Glory gym in Breda, Netherlands. Biography Hemmers began his Martial Arts training in Judo at the age of 6, which he studied until the age of 15 when he switched to Kyokushin Karate. In 1976, Hemmers began competing in Full Contact Karate. During the 1980s, however, Kickboxing and Muay Thai became more popular in the Netherlands and Hemmers took this up. His professional Kickboxing record was 25 wins, 3 losses and 1 draw. In 1984, Hemmers opened his own gym called Maeng Ho-Hemmers Gym and he later became the head trainer at the Golden Glory gym. Cor de Groot (July 7, 1914May 26, 1993) was a Dutch pianist and composer. He was born in Amsterdam. He studied piano with Egbert Veen and Ulferts Schults, and composition and conducting under Sem Dresden. In 1932 he graduated with highest honours, playing a piano concerto written by himself. After becoming a soloist with the Concertgebouw Orchestra, he won the fifth prize at the 1936 international contest for pianists in Vienna. He played all over the world and recordings that exist demonstrate a strong sense of structure, a clean rhythmic attack and very precise dynamic shadings. He was a member of the Queen Elisabeth Music Competition's jury in 1956. In 1959 a nervous disorder developed in his right hand but he continued playing repertoire for the left hand.
