River Coquet
The River Coquet runs through the county of Northumberland, England, discharging into the North Sea on the east coast at Amble. It rises in the Cheviot Hills on the border between England and Scotland, and follows a winding course across the landscape ("Coquetdale"). The upper reaches are bordered by the Otterburn Ranges military training ground, and are crossed by a number of bridges built in the 20th century. It passes a number of small villages and hamlets, and feeds one of the lakes created by extraction of gravel that form the Caistron Nature Reserve, before reaching the town of Rothbury, where it is crossed by a grade II listed bridge. Below the town is Thrum Mill, the restoration of which was featured on Channel 4 television. It loops around Brinkburn Priory, founded in the 1130s for Augustinian Canons, and its associated mill. Coquet Island
Coquet Island is a small island of about , situated off Amble on the Northumberland coast, northeast England. It is included in the civil parish of Hauxley. Bird reserve The island is owned by the Duke of Northumberland. The Royal Society for the Protection of Birds manages the island as a bird reserve, for its important seabird colonies. The most numerous species is the puffin, with over 18,000 pairs nesting in 2002, but the island is most important for the largest colony of the endangered roseate tern in Britain, which, thanks to conservation measures including the provision of nestboxes to protect the nests from gulls and bad weather, has risen to 118 pairs in 2018. Other nesting birds include sandwich tern, common tern, Arctic tern, black-legged kittiwake, fulmar, three other gull species, and eider duck. Amélie Coquet
Amélie Coquet (born 31 December 1984, in Hazebrouck) is a French football player who played for RC Lens Féminin. She spent the majority of her career at FCF Juvisy of the Division 1 Féminine. Coquet plays as a midfielder, and won the league with FCF Juvisy in 2005–06. She made seventeen appearances as a French international between 2003 and 2010. Personal life Coquet was born on 31 December 1984 in the town of Hazebrouck (in Nord-Pas-de-Calais). Ernie Coquet
Ernest Coquet (6 January 1883 – 26 October 1946) was an English professional footballer who played as a full-back for Gateshead Town, Reading, Tottenham Hotspur, Port Vale, Fulham, and Leadgate Park. He helped "Spurs" to win promotion out of the Second Division in 1908–09. Career Coquet had spells with Seaham White Star and Gateshead Town, before joining Sunderland in 1905. He left the club to join Reading without making a first-team appearance. In 1908, the full-back signed for Tottenham Hotspur, together with Billy Minter, in a combined £500 deal. He helped "Spurs" to win promotion out of the Second Division with a second-place finish in 1908–09, one point behind champions Bolton Wanderers. They went on to post 15th places finishes in the First Division in the 1909–10 and 1910–11 campaigns. Henry Of Coquet
Henry of Coquet (died 1127) was a Dane who lived in a hermitage on the island of Coquet, off the Northumberland coast. Life A Dane of noble birth, Henry is said to have been directed by a vision to make good his escape from a marriage his parents were endeavouring to force upon him, and to serve God all his days as a hermit on Coquet. He landed at Tynemouth, and obtained the prior's consent to build a small cell on the island. He died there in 1127. He is venerated as a saint in the Catholic Church.
