Copa América Centenario Squads
The following is a list of squads for all sixteen national teams that competed at the Copa América Centenario. Each national team had to submit a squad of 23 players, three of whom had to be goalkeepers. The provisional squads were announced on 4 May 2016. A final selection was provided to the organizers on 20 May 2016. Group A Colombia Head coach: José Pékerman The following 23 players were called up for the final squad. Copa América Centenario
The Copa América Centenario ( pt, Copa América Centenário, french: Coupe Amerique Centennaire, en, Centennial Cup America; literally ''Centennial America Cup'') was an international men's association football tournament that was hosted by the United States in 2016. The competition was a celebration of the centenary of CONMEBOL and the Copa América, and was the first Copa América hosted outside South America. The tournament was a commemorative version of Copa América (not the 45th edition). It was held as part of an agreement between CONMEBOL (the South American football confederation) and CONCACAF (the football confederation for North and Central America and the Caribbean) as a special edition between the usual three-year cycle, and featured an expanded field of sixteen teams (an increase from the usual twelve), with all ten teams from CONMEBOL and six teams from CONCACAF. Dayro Mauricio Moreno Galindo (born 16 September 1985) is a Colombian professional footballer who plays as a forward for Categoría Primera A club Atlético Bucaramanga. Moreno began his career with Once Caldas, winning the 2004 Copa Libertadores. After that, he moved to Europe to play for Romanian club Steaua București for two years,before returning to Once Caldas in 2010 and winning the 2010 Finalizacion league title with them. Deportivo Independiente Medellín, also known as Independiente Medellín or DIM, is a Colombian professional football club based in Medellín that currently plays in the Categoría Primera A. They play their home games at Estadio Atanasio Girardot, which seats 40,943 people, and is also shared with city rivals Atlético Nacional. The team is dubbed "El Poderoso de la Montaña" (Mighty of the Mountain) due to Medellín's geographical location high in the Andes mountains. Daniel Alejandro "Dani" Torres Rojas (born 15 November 1989) is a Colombian professional footballer who plays as a defensive midfielder. Club career Santa Fe Born in Cáqueza, Cundinamarca, Torres joined Independiente Santa Fe's youth setup in 2005 at the age of 15. He made his senior debut on 8 June 2008, starting in a 0–3 away loss against América de Cali. John Stefan Medina Ramírez (born 14 June 1992) is a Colombian professional footballer who plays for Liga MX club Monterrey and the Colombia national team. Initially, Medina debuted for Atlético Nacional as a centre-back. As time progressed, he has shown to be comfortable playing as a right-back and on some occasions as a defensive midfielder.
