Coordination Office For The Preservation Of The Written Cultural Heritage
The Coordination Office for the Preservation of the Written Cultural Heritage, abbreviated in German as KEK, is situated in Germany at the Berlin State Library (Staatsbibliothek zu Berlin) as part of the Prussian Cultural Heritage Foundation (Stiftung Preußischer Kulturbesitz). Since 2011 the KEK is working on strategies for preservation of the written cultural heritage in archives and libraries in Germany. For this purpose, among other things the KEK sponsors annually innovative pilot projects on conservation. Due to the major catastrophes of recent years in Germany – the fire at the Duchess Anna Amalia Library in Weimar in 2004 and the collapse of the Historical Archive of the city of Cologne in 2009 – the public got only too painfully aware of the vulnerability of the written cultural heritage. The Berlin State Library (german: Staatsbibliothek zu Berlin; officially abbreviated as ''SBB'', colloquially ''Stabi'') is a universal library in Berlin, Germany and a property of the Prussian Cultural Heritage Foundation. The Prussian Cultural Heritage Foundation (german: Stiftung Preußischer Kulturbesitz; SPK) is a German federal government body that oversees 27 museums and cultural organizations in and around Berlin, Germany. Its purview includes all of Berlin's State Museums, the Berlin State Library, the Prussian Privy State Archives and a variety of institutes and research centers. As such, it is one of the largest cultural organizations in the world, and also the largest cultural employer in Germany with around 2,000 staff as of 2020. Duchess Anna Amalia Library
The Duchess Anna Amalia Library (German: ''Herzogin Anna Amalia Bibliothek'') in Weimar, Germany, houses a major collection of German literature and historical documents. In 1991, the tricentennial of its opening to the public, the Ducal Library was renamed for Duchess Anna Amalia. Today, the library is a public research library for literature and art history. The main focus is German literature from the Classical and the late Romantic eras. The library was inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List as part of the Classical Weimar site because of its testimony to the global cultural importance of Weimar during the late 18th and early 19th centuries during the Weimar Classicism movement. Historical Archive Of The City Of Cologne
The Historical Archive of the City of Cologne (german: Historisches Archiv der Stadt Köln, or german: Kölner Stadtarchiv for short) is the municipal archive of Cologne, Germany. It ranks among the largest communal archives in Europe. A municipal archive has existed in Cologne since the Middle Ages. The oldest inventory of charters in the archive is dated 1408/1409. The oldest document kept in the archive is a charter dated AD 922. The archive contains official records and private documents from all ages of Cologne history, as well as an extensive library of manuscripts. While the adjective "historical" in its name might suggest a closed, complete archive with a focus on older history, the archive is also the official government repository responsible for collecting recent municipal records. Bernd Neumann
Bernd Otto Neumann (born 6 January 1942) is a former German politician and since 2014 president of the German Federal Film Board (FFA). Biography Neumann was born in Elbing, East Prussia, now Elbląg, Poland. Following the flight and expulsion of Germans after World War II he found refuge in Bremen, West Germany. Neumann studied from 1961 to 1966 at the University of Bremen and later he worked as teacher until 1971 in Bremen. Neumann is married and has two children. Since 1962, Neumann has been a member of the Christian Democratic Union (CDU). From 1979 to 2008, he led the CDU in Bremen. He was a member of the Bürgerschaft of Bremen from 1971 to 1987. Since 1987, Neumann has been a member of the Bundestag. He served from 1991 to 1998 as Secretary of State in the Federal Ministry of Research and Technology.
