Cooper School, Bicester
The Cooper School is a co-educational secondary school and sixth form with Academy (English school), academy status, located in the northern side of Bicester, Oxfordshire. History Previously a Community school (England and Wales), community school administered by Oxfordshire County Council, the school became a specialist science college in 2005. The Cooper School converted to academy status on 1 July 2014 within Bernwode Schools Trust, however, the school continues to coordinate with Oxfordshire County Council for admissions. Coopers School
Coopers School is a mixed secondary school with academy status in Chislehurst in the London Borough of Bromley, England. The current Head of School is Claire Bessa. The school shares a site with the community special school Marjorie McClure. The site is on land between Chislehurst Common and the National Trust's Hawkwood Estate, an area of working farmland and woodland, and is above the Chislehurst Caves. As of 2013 the school had some 1,357 students, of whom approximately 200 were in the sixth form. The school was inspected by Ofsted in 2009 and rated good with outstanding capacity for sustained improvement. History The school was first established in 1939 as the Sidcup Day Commercial School, with headmistress Miss Scorrer. Coopers' Company And Coborn School
The Coopers' Company and Coborn School is a secondary school and sixth form with academy status, located in Upminster area of the London Borough of Havering, England. Admissions The school is (since 2005) a non-selective school described by Ofsted as "an exceptional school of real excellence". The school excels at Performing Arts and Sports. In 2004 as part of the European Year of Education through Sport it won the award of "Europe's most sport minded school". There have been no tests since 2001 nor interviews since 2004 for admission. Current applications are made via application form completed by the prospective students' parents and, months later, by a second form completed by the students themselves. This is not an examination but is heavily scrutinized. The school is heavily oversubscribed with approximately 5 applicants for each of the 180 places (over 900 applicants per year group). The Cooper Union for the Advancement of Science and Art (Cooper Union) is a private college at Cooper Square in New York City. Peter Cooper founded the institution in 1859 after learning about the government-supported École Polytechnique in France. The school was built on a radical new model of American higher education based on Cooper's belief that an education "equal to the best technology schools established" should be accessible to those who qualify, independent of their race, religion, sex, wealth or social status, and should be "open and free to all." Cooper School is a historic one-room school building for African-American students located near Mebane, Alamance County, North Carolina. It was built about 1900, and is a one-story, three-bay, frame building. It has a tin gable-front roof and is sheathed in plain weatherboard.
