Cool Cat (Looney Tunes)
Cool Cat is a fictional cartoon character created by director Alex Lovy for Warner Bros.-Seven Arts Animation. He was the final star of the original Warner Bros. theatrical cartoons. His first appearance was in an eponymous short in 1967. He was voiced by Larry Storch. Robert McKimson took over as director for the last two cartoons in this series. In 1967, Jack L. Warner reorganized the Warner Bros. animation department, and hired Lovy away from Hanna-Barbera Productions to create new characters for Warners. The two that Lovy came up with were Cool Cat and Merlin the Magic Mouse. Biography Cool Cat is a hip Bengal tiger (whose design was very similar to that of The Pink Panther and Snagglepuss) who wore a stylish green beret and scarf. Beatniks were members of a social movement in the 1950s that subscribed to an anti-materialistic lifestyle. History In 1948, Jack Kerouac introduced the phrase "Beat Generation", generalizing from his social circle to characterize the underground, anticonformist youth gathering in New York at that time. The name came up in conversation with John Clellon Holmes, who published an early Beat Generation novel titled '' Go'' (1952), along with the manifesto ''This Is the Beat Generation'' in ''The New York Times Magazine''. In 1954, Nolan Miller published his third novel ''Why I Am So Beat'' (Putnam), detailing the weekend parties of four students. William Lava
William "Bill" Benjamin Lava (March 18, 1911 – February 20, 1971) was a composer and arranger who composed and conducted music for feature films as well as that for the Warner Bros.' ''Looney Tunes'' and '' Merrie Melodies'' animated cartoons from 1962 to 1969, replacing the deceased Milt Franklyn, making him the last composer and arranger in the classic era of Warner Bros. Cartoons. Lava's music was markedly different from that of Franklyn and previous composer Carl Stalling, with a tendency towards atonality. A sense of tension is often created in Lava's scores using sequences based on the notes of the diminished seventh chord. American Football

''Bugged by a Bee'' is a 1969 Warner Bros. '' Looney Tunes'' animated cartoon directed by Robert McKimson. It starred Cool Cat, and was the final cartoon from the original ''Looney Tunes''/''Merrie Melodies'' series to bear the '' Looney Tunes'' name, and the last from that era to be widely released. One more cartoon, '' Injun Trouble'', would follow ''Bugged by a Bee'', but it was in the '' Merrie Melodies'' series. This cartoon was the last Looney Tunes short until 1987's ''The Duxorcist''. Synopsis Cool Cat, a student at Disco Tech, sings about how he's "workin' through college to gain a lotta knowledge." A bee disturbs him which he swats to the ground with his guitar.
