Cooking Show
A cooking show, cookery show, or cooking program (also spelled cooking programme in British English) is a television genre that presents food preparation, often in a restaurant kitchen or on a studio set, or at the host's personal home. Typically the show's host, often a celebrity chef, prepares one or more dishes over the course of an episode, taking the viewing audience through the food's inspiration, preparation, and stages of cooking. Due to time and production constraints, most, if not all, cooking shows employ filming shortcuts such as video editing, food modeling and photography, and prepared ingredients to speed up the cooking process and ensure a smooth and seamless production. Cooking shows have been a popular staple of daytime TV programming since the earliest days of television. ''Top Chef'' is an American reality competition television series which premiered on Bravo on March 8, 2006. The show features chefs competing against each other in culinary challenges. The contestants are judged by a panel of professional chefs and other notables from the food and wine industry, with one or more contestants eliminated in each episode. Edward Padula
Edward Padula (January 24, 1916 – November 1, 2001) was an American theatre producer, stage manager, and occasional director and writer. Born in Newark, New Jersey, Padula began his theatrical career by directing the book for the early Lerner and Loewe collaboration ''The Day Before Spring'' in 1945. A full decade passed before he returned to Broadway as a stage manager, working on such productions as '' No Time for Sergeants'' (1955), '' Rumple'' (1957), ''God and Kate Murphy'', and '' Saratoga'' (1959). In 1958, Padula began to audition songwriting teams for a musical about American teenagers he hoped to produce. Marcel Boulestin
Xavier Marcel Boulestin (1878 – 20 September 1943) was a French chef, restaurateur, and the author of cookery books that popularised French cuisine in the English-speaking world. Born in Poitiers in France (Poitou region), Boulestin tried a number of occupations before finding his role as a restaurateur. He worked as secretary and ghostwriter to the author "Willy" ( Henry Gauthier-Villars) in Paris, and then moved to London, where he made his home and career from 1906 onward. There, he opened an interior design shop, which failed to make enough money. He wrote extensively, and was commissioned to write a simple French cookery book for English readers. It was a huge success, and thereafter his career was in cooking. The Restaurant Boulestin, known as the most expensive in London, opened in 1927.
