Cook County Board Of Review
The Cook County Board of Review is an independent office created by statute by the Illinois General Assembly and is governed by three commissioners who are elected by district for two- or four-year terms. Illinois General Assembly
The Illinois General Assembly is the legislature of the U.S. state of Illinois. It has two chambers, the Illinois House of Representatives and the Illinois Senate. The General Assembly was created by the first state constitution adopted in 1818. , the current General Assembly is the 102nd. Dan Patlak (born March 1962) is an American politician who has served as a member of the Cook County Board of Review from the 1st district from 2010 to 2020. Before this he served as Wheeling Township assessor from 2005 to 2010. Early life, education, and career Patlak was born in March 1962. Patlak graduated from Valparaiso University with a bachelor's degree in business administration. Patlak worked as a real estate broker from 1986 until 1995. In the 1990s, Patlak became an anti-tax activist. From 1992 to 1994, he was a volunteer coordinator for Citizens Against Government Waste. He organized "Tax Action Day Rallies" at the Kluczynski Federal Building and Daley Plaza. He testified before the Cook County Board of Commissioners in opposition to a $0.75 county sales tax. Robert Shaw (Illinois Politician)
Robert Shaw (July 31, 1937 – July 22, 2021) was an American politician. He served as a City of Chicago Alderman in the 9th ward for two terms, first in 1979 through 1983 and again from 1987 until 1998. Shaw also served as commissioner on the Cook County Board of Review from 1998 until 2004. For more than a quarter century, Shaw and his identical twin brother William were dominant political "kingmakers" of Chicago's southern suburbs and its far South Side. Maureen Murphy (née Toolan; November 14, 1952 – August 9, 2008) was an American politician in the Republican Party. She held several offices in Illinois, serving as a member of the Illinois House of Representatives and the Cook County Board of Review, and chairing the Cook County Republican Party from 2002 to 2004. Joseph "Joe" Berrios (born February 14, 1952) is a Democratic politician who was the Assessor and Chairman of the Cook County Democratic Party of Cook County, Illinois, as well as a registered Illinois state government lobbyist.
