Conveyance (horse)
Conveyance (foaled 2007 in Kentucky) is a retired American Thoroughbred racehorse. He is by leading stallion Indian Charlie and out of the broodmare Emptythetill, herself a daughter of American Horse of the Year Holy Bull. He was bred by Gulf Coast Farms LLC and Consigned by Taylor Made Sales Agency, agent, Conveyance was bought for $240,000 by Legends Racing. Owned by Zabeel Racing International, LLC, he was trained by Bob Baffert. Conveyance has had five starts prior to April 2010. He won his first four races and placed in the fifth one. Conveyance broke his maiden by lengths at Santa Anita on Oct. 31 and followed that with a seven-length romp at Hollywood Park on Nov. 25. Conveyance began his 3 year old season with a win in January's San Rafael Stakes at Santa Anita. He followed that win with a win in the Southwest Stakes. Indian Charlie
Indian Charlie (March 27, 1995 – December 15, 2011) was an American Thoroughbred racehorse who won the 1998 Grade 1 Santa Anita Derby, equaling the stakes record time, before finishing third in the Kentucky Derby in his final start. He is best known as an important sire of Champions, and his son Uncle Mo was the leading freshman sire of 2015. Racing career Indian Charlie won his first four races, including a length victory over Real Quiet in the Santa Anita Derby, equaling the stakes record of 1:47 flat. He started at odds of 5/2 for the Kentucky Derby, in which he finished third to Real Quiet. He was rested after the Derby and missed the Preakness and Belmont Stakes. In the United States, the Triple Crown of Thoroughbred Racing, commonly known as the Triple Crown, is a series of horse races for three-year-old Thoroughbreds, consisting of the Kentucky Derby, Preakness Stakes, and Belmont Stakes. The Sunland Derby is an American Thoroughbred horse race held annually at Sunland Park Racetrack in Sunland Park, New Mexico. Inaugurated in 2003, the race is open to three-year-olds willing to race one and one-eighth miles on the dirt and is sponsored by WinStar Farm of Versailles, Kentucky. Held in March, the Sunland Derby currently offers a purse of $800,000. In its 11th year in 2013, it received Grade III status from the American Graded Stakes Committee for the first time in 2010. Hollywood Park Racetrack
Hollywood Park was a thoroughbred race course located in Inglewood, California, about 3 miles (5 km) from Los Angeles International Airport and adjacent to the Forum indoor arena. In 1994, the original Hollywood Park Casino was added to the racetrack complex. Horse racing and training were shut down in December 2013 though the casino operations continued until a new state of the art casino building, the new Hollywood Park Casino, opened in October 2016. The track was demolished in stages from 2014 until 2016 and the area is now the site of a master-planned neighborhood in development named Hollywood Park after the former track.
