Convent Of Sinners
''Convent of Sinners'' (Italian: ''La monaca nel peccato''/ ''The Sinful Nun''), is a 1986 Italian nunsploitation erotic film directed by Joe D'Amato (as Dario Donati). D'Amato directed, photographed and edited the film. The Rene Rivet screenplay was based on the novel " La Religeuse" by Denis Diderot. Plot France, 1700. Young Susanna is raped by her stepfather. Her mother witnesses the crime and urges that Susanna be put into a convent, against her will. The monastery is a strange place since many nuns are oversexed. Some of them sometimes masturbate and flog themselves. The Mother Superior is sexually attracted to Susanna and makes advances. This arouses the jealousy of her former lover Sister Theresa, who starts scheming to regain her former position. Joe D'Amato
Aristide Massaccesi (15 December 1936 – 23 January 1999), known professionally as Joe D'Amato, was an Italian film director, producer, cinematographer, and screenwriter who worked in many genres (westerns, decamerotici, peplum, war films, swashbuckler, comedy, fantasy, postapocalyptic film, and erotic thriller) but is best known for his horror, erotic and adult films. D'Amato worked in the 1950s as electric and set photographer, in the 1960s as camera operator, and from 1969 onwards as cinematographer. Starting in 1972, he directed and co-directed around 200 films under numerous pseudonyms, regularly acting as cinematographer as well. Nunsploitation is a subgenre of exploitation film which had its peak in Europe in the 1970s. These films typically involve Christian nuns living in convents during the Middle Ages. Criteria The main conflict of the story is usually of a religious or sexual nature, such as religious oppression or sexual suppression due to living in celibacy.
