Constance Binney
Constance Binney (June 28, 1896 – November 15, 1989) was an American stage and film actress and dancer. Biography Born in New York City, Binney was educated at Westover School, a private college preparatory boarding school for girls in Middlebury, Connecticut, and in Paris, France. Her father, Harold Osgood Binney and her mother, Gertrude Miles, were both from wealthy and socially connected families. A maternal uncle was Basil Miles of Philadelphia, American diplomat to Russia in the State Department during the presidency of Woodrow Wilson. In 1934, she told a newspaper reporter, "I was born a society wench, and I've resented it ever since." She made her Broadway theatre debut in ''Saturday to Monday'' (1917) and the following year appeared with her actress sister, Faire Binney, in the Maurice Tourneur silent film, '' Sporting Life'', her film debut. ''The Test of Honor'' (1919 in film, 1919) was an American silent film, silent film drama produced by Famous Players-Lasky, released by Paramount Pictures, Paramount, directed by John S. Robertson, and starring John Barrymore. Considered the actor's first drama movie role after years of doing film comedies and farces. It is based on author E. Hollywood Boulevard is a major east–west street in Los Angeles, California. Whitestone is a residential neighborhood in the northernmost part of the New York City borough of Queens. Geoffrey Leonard Cheshire, Baron Cheshire, (7 September 1917 – 31 July 1992) was a highly decorated Royal Air Force (RAF) pilot and group captain during the Second World War, and a philanthropist. Among the honours Cheshire received as a pilot was the Victoria Cross, the highest award for gallantry in the face of the enemy that can be awarded to British and Commonwealth forces. He was the youngest group captain in the RAF and one of the most highly decorated pilots of the war. After the war he founded a nursing home that grew into the charity Leonard Cheshire Disability. He became known for his work in conflict resolution. In 1991 he was created a life peer in recognition of his charitable work.
