Natalie Dessay
Natalie Dessay (; born 19 April 1965) is a French singer, known for her former career as an operatic soprano. She gained wide recognition after her portrayal of Olympia in ''The Tales of Hoffmann'' in 1992, and then performing at leading stages, such as the Paris Opera, Vienna State Opera, and the Metropolitan Opera. Florian Sempey
Florian Sempey, born 29 January 1988, is a French operatic baritone. Career Florian Sempey studied piano and voice at the conservatoire in Libourne and then singing at the Bordeaux Conservatory. He made his debut at the age of 21 in the role of Papageno in Mozart's ''The Magic Flute'' at the Bordeaux Opera. He then entered the Atelier Lyrique, the young artists programme of the Paris Opera, for two years. He appeared as Figaro in Rossini's ''The Barber of Seville'' at the Paris Opera, a role which he also performed at the Royal Opera House, the Rossini Opera Festival in Pesaro, the Rome Opera and numerous other leading opera houses. Marcel Merkès
Marcel Merkès (7 July 1920 – 30 March 2007) was a French tenor operetta singer. Merkès was born in Bordeaux. After receiving several prizes in singing at the Conservatoire de Bordeaux, he started at the age of 22 years at the Grand Théâtre de Bordeaux in the role of Des Grieux in ''Manon'', an opera by Jules Massenet. He often performed an operetta duo with his wife :fr:Paulette Merval, Paulette Merval, a singer and violinist, who he had met at the Conservatoire de Bordeaux. They totaled more than 10,500 performances and recorded many records in their careers. He was a prolific performer at the Théâtre Mogador in Paris. Trent Kynaston
Trent Kynaston, born in Tucson, Arizona, is an American jazz and classical saxophonist, music educator, and composer and has performed throughout the United States, Canada, Europe, Central America, South America, Africa, and Asia. Biography Kynaston is Professor Emeritus of Music at Western Michigan University where he recently retired after 39 years of teaching. During his tenure he was the recipient of Down Beat magazine's Achievement Award for Jazz Education, the College of Fine Arts Outstanding Service Award, the Dean's Outstanding Teaching Award, and the Western Michigan University Distinguished Teaching Award. In 2008 he was recognized as WMU "Professor of the Year." Mark Engebretson, DMA, Northwestern University (born 1964, California) is a saxophonist and composer. His music combines computer music and live performance, the latter usually performed on saxophone. Biography Engebretson was born in California and raised in Alexandria, Minnesota. His family later moved to North St. Paul, Minnesota. His father, a retired doctor, is also a saxophonist as well as a clarinettist. Engbretson attended St. Olaf College for a year before transferring to the University of Minnesota. He is currently Associate Professor of Composition and Electronic Music at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro and director of the Alice Virginia Poe Williams Electronic Music Studio at that university.
