Conquering Ruler
''Conquering Ruler'' is a cover album by The Specials, released in 2001 (see 2001 in music). It is their third album of covers, and their seventh studio album. Like its predecessor, ''Skinhead Girl'', the tracks were recorded at 1993 sessions in the wake of an album backing Desmond Dekker. Only three of the original members of The Specials - Neville Staple, Roddy Byers and Horace Panter participated. An album is a collection of audio recordings issued on compact disc (CD), Phonograph record, vinyl, audio tape, or another medium such as Digital distribution#Music, digital distribution. The Blenders
The Blenders are a vocal quartet based in Minneapolis, Minnesota, Minneapolis, Minnesota (not to be confused with the 1960s vocal quartet of the same name that was led by Steve Smith (singer), Steve Smith, appeared on the ''Lawrence Welk Show'' for two years, and disbanded in 1967). History Originally from Fargo, North Dakota, the four members of the Blenders, Tim Kasper, Ryan Lance, Darren Rust and Allan Rust (replacing original member Paul Dunkirk), built up their fan base on the strength of a primarily a cappella singing style. Johnny Osbourne (born Errol Osbourne, 1948) is one of the most popular Jamaican reggae and dancehall singers of all time, who rose to success in the late 1970s and mid-1980s. His album '' Truths and Rights'' was a roots reggae success, and featured "Jah Promise" and the album's title track, "Truths and Rights". Duke Reid
Arthur "Duke" Reid CD (21 July 1915 – 1 January 1975) was a Jamaican record producer, DJ and label owner. He ran one of the most popular sound systems of the 1950s called Reid's Sound System, whilst Duke himself was known as The Trojan possibly named after the British-made trucks used to transport the equipment. In the 1960s, Reid founded record label Treasure Isle, named after his liquor store, that produced ska and rocksteady music. He was still active in the early 1970s, working with toaster U-Roy.
