Conor Madden
Conor Madden (born 1994) is an Irish Gaelic footballer who plays for Gowna and the Cavan county team. Playing career Club Madden joined the Gowna club and later progressed to the club's senior team. On 7 November 2021, Madden started his first county final as Gowna faced Ramor United. A low-scoring game ended in a draw. Madden scored 2 points in the replay seven days later, but a poor start from Gowna was crucial as Ramor secured a four-point win. Gowna returned to the final the next year, where they faced Killygarry on 16 October. Madden was at full forward as Gowna claimed their first title since 2002. Inter-county Minor and under-21 Madden joined the Cavan under-21 side in 2013, On 10 April, Cavan faced Donegal in the Ulster Final. Madden came on as a substitute in the 0–13 to 1-6 win. Gowna GFC
Gowna are a Gaelic football club based in the village of Loch Gowna, County Cavan, Ireland. History GAA has been present in the local Gowna area since as early as 1889 and the club went under the name of Scrabby West Breffnians or 'Breffnies' as they were otherwise known. Gowna's first major football success came in 1916 in the form of a junior championship. Gowna GFC, as we know it today, was officially reformed in 1976 and has gone through some major developmental change. The 'post reform' park was officially opened in 1982 and was revamped in 2011 to stand as it is today. After reforming in 1976, Gowna claimed the Junior title in 1982 and won the Intermediate in 1985. Gowna reached the final of the Senior Championship in 1988, where they defeated Laragh United to claim the club's first senior title. 2022 Cavan Senior Football Championship
The 2022 Cavan Senior Football Championship was the 113th edition of Cavan GAA's premier Gaelic football tournament for senior graded clubs in County Cavan, Ireland. The tournament consists of 12 teams, with the winner going on to represent Cavan in the Ulster Senior Club Football Championship. The championship started on 12 August 2022. Ramor United were the defending champions, but were dethroned by Killygarry in the semi-final, who reached their first senior final since 1971. Cavan Senior Football Championship
The Cavan Senior Football Championship is an annual Gaelic Athletic Association club competition between the top Cavan Gaelic football clubs. It was first competed for in 1888. The winners get the Oliver Plunkett Cup and qualifies to represent their county in the Ulster Club Championship and in turn, go on to the All-Ireland Senior Club Football Championship. Cornafean have won the most titles, having been victorious 20 times. The current Senior football champions are Gowna after beating Killygarry in the final of 2022. Format 12 teams will contest the Hotel Kilmore Senior Football Championship. The championship shall be run on a league basis up to the Quarter-Final stage and Knock-out thereafter. Ulster Under-21 Football Championship
The Ulster GAA Football Under-20 Championship, known simply as the Ulster Under-20 Championship, is an annual inter-county Gaelic football competition organised by the Ulster Council of the Gaelic Athletic Association (GAA). It is the highest inter-county football competition for male players between the ages of 17 and 20 in the province of Ulster. The championship was contested as the Ulster Under-21 Championship between 1963 and 2016 before changing to an under-20 age category from 2018. It is sponsored by EirGrid. Ulster Senior Football Championship
The Ulster Senior Football Championship is an inter-county competition for Gaelic football teams in the province of Ulster. It is organised by the Ulster Council of the Gaelic Athletic Association (GAA) and begins in early May. The final is usually played on the third Sunday in July. All nine Ulster counties participate. It is regarded as hardest to win of the four provincial football championships.
