Connor O'Brien, 3rd Earl Of Thomond
Connor O'Brien, 3rd Earl of Thomond also spelt Conor and called Groibleach, or the "long-nailed", ( ga, Conchobhar Groibleach Ó Briain; 1535–1581) fought his uncle Donnell over his father's succession during thirty years from 1535 to 1565. He was confirmed as 3rd Earl of Thomond in 1558 by the Lord Deputy of Ireland, Thomas Radclyffe, 3rd Earl of Sussex. O'Brien intrigued with fitz Maurice in 1569 during the 1st Desmond Rebellion and fled to France. He returned and was pardoned in 1571, being restored to his lands at the end of the rebellion in 1573. Birth and origins Connor was born in 1535, the eldest son of Donogh O'Brien and his wife Helen Butler. His father was the 2nd Earl of Thomond. He had obtained the earldom by an agreement by which he succeeded his uncle Murrough O'Brien, 1st Earl of Thomond as 2nd earl. Connor O'Brien, 2nd Viscount Clare ( – 1670) was the son of Daniel O'Brien, 1st Viscount Clare and Catherine FitzGerald, a daughter of Gerald, 14th Earl of Desmond. Birth and origins Connor was born about 1605, the second son of Daniel O'Brien and his wife Catherine FitzGerald. His father was the 1st Viscount Clare. His father's family, the O'Briens, were a Gaelic Irish dynasty that descended from Brian Boru, medieval high king of Ireland. Connor Olev Martin O'Brien (born 4 February 1961) is a Canadian alpine skier, businessman, and investor. He is president and chief executive officer of O'Shares Investments, a U.S.-based ETF adviser, as well as president, chief executive officer and chief investment officer of Stanton Asset Management, a Montreal-based investment-management company, which he founded in 2002. O'Brien had previously established a private-equity investment firm, Stanton Capital Corporation, in New York City. Connor O'Brien (born 12 July 2004) is an Irish professional footballer who plays as a defender for club Accrington Stanley. Club career O'Brien first joined the youth set-up at Accrington Stanley at the age of eight, and went on to captain the under-18s to the fourth round of the FA Youth Cup in 2021–22. He signed his first one-year professional contract in June 2022. On 3 December 2022, he joined Northern Premier League Premier Division club Radcliffe on a one-month loan. He scored on his debut later that day, in a 2–2 draw at Matlock Town. He played a total of seven games for Radcliffe.
