Connor Fields (lacrosse)
Connor Fields (October 10, 1995) is a professional lacrosse player who plays for Archers Lacrosse Club of the Premier Lacrosse League and the Rochester Knighthawks of the National Lacrosse League. He played college lacrosse at the University at Albany, where he was an All-American all four years. He was drafted by the San Diego Seals in the 2018 National Lacrosse League Entry Draft. He was also drafted in Major League Lacrosse by the Charlotte Hounds in 2018. College career Fields was ranked as the 15th best player coming out of high school by Inside Lacrosse after four years at Bishop Timon – St. Jude High School. He committed to play for the University at Albany. Freshman Year Fields started and scored in every game his freshman year. In his first college game, he scored three goals and had three assists against Drexel. Charlotte Hounds
The Charlotte Hounds were a Major League Lacrosse (MLL) field lacrosse franchise that began play in the 2012 MLL season and ceased operations after the 2018 season. The team played their home games at American Legion Memorial Stadium. Franchise history In January 2011 the MLL voted to grant expansion teams to Charlotte and Columbus, Ohio for the 2012 MLL Season. The team's first hire was Wade Leaphart, who was instrumental in establishing the team's identity, sales, marketing and operations, among other things. McPhilliamy and Leaphart launched a Name the Team Campaign, sponsored by OrthoCarolina, the official team physician of the Hounds, and was heavily run via social media – Facebook. The North Carolina Tar Heels men's lacrosse team represents the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division I men's lacrosse. North Carolina currently competes as a member of the Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) and plays its home games at Fetzer Field and Kenan Memorial Stadium in Chapel Hill, North Carolina. 2017 NCAA Division I Men's Lacrosse Championship
The 2017 NCAA Division I Men's Lacrosse Championship was played on Memorial Day weekend in May 2017 at Gillette Stadium in Foxborough, Massachusetts. This was the 47th annual single-elimination tournament to determine the national championship for National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division I men's college lacrosse. Seventeen teams competed in the tournament, based upon their performance during the regular season. For nine teams entry into the tournament was by means of a conference tournament automatic qualifier, eight teams received at-large selections. Maryland won their 3rd NCAA title, defeating Ohio State 9-6. This was Maryland's first national title since 1975. Tewaaraton Trophy
The Tewaaraton Award is an annual award for the most outstanding American college lacrosse men's and women's players, since 2001. It is the lacrosse equivalent of football's Heisman Trophy. The award is presented by The Tewaaraton Foundation and the University Club of Washington, D.C. Lacrosse is the oldest sport played in North America and the award honors the Native American heritage of lacrosse in the name of its award, "Tewaaraton," the Mohawk name for their game and the progenitor of present-day lacrosse. The Tewaaraton Award has received the endorsement of the Mohawk Nation Council of Elders. The 2016 NCAA Division I Men's Lacrosse Championship was the 46th annual single-elimination tournament to determine the national championship for National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division I men's college lacrosse. Eighteen teams competed in the tournament, chosen by either winning an automatic qualifying conference tournament or as an at-large bid based on their performance during the regular season. The participating teams were announced on May 8. North Carolina won the title, defeating Maryland 14–13 in overtime in the final, becoming the first unseeded team to win the championship. Syracuse Orange Men's Lacrosse
The Syracuse Orange men's lacrosse team represents Syracuse University in NCAA Division I men's college lacrosse. The Orange have won 15 national championship titles, and currently compete as a member of the Atlantic Coast Conference men's lacrosse conference. Syracuse plays its home games at the Carrier Dome in Syracuse, New York. Vermont Catamounts
The Vermont Catamounts are the varsity intercollegiate athletic programs of the University of Vermont, based in Burlington, Vermont, United States. The school sponsors 18 athletic programs (8 men's, 10 women's), most of which compete in the NCAA Division I America East Conference (AEC), of which the school has been a member since 1979. The Hartford Hawks men's lacrosse team represents the University of Hartford in National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division I men's lacrosse. America East Conference
The America East Conference is a collegiate athletic conference affiliated with NCAA Division I founded in 1979, whose members are located in the Northeastern United States. The conference has nine core members including eight public research universities, three of which, the University of Maine, the University of New Hampshire, and the University of Vermont, are the flagship universities of their states. The two non-flagship university centers of the State University of New York are in the conference: the University at Albany and Binghamton University. Bryant University is the only private university among the core membership. Of the nine members, eight are located within the borders of 7 contiguous states.
