Connie Sheehan
Cornelius Sheehan (31 May 1889 – 21 February 1950) was an Irish hurler who played as a centre-back with the Cork senior hurling team. He was an All-Ireland Championship winner in 1919. Career Sheehan began his hurling career at club level with Redmonds. He enjoyed a lengthy career with the club, however, and won Cork Senior Championship titles as captain in 1915 and 1917. At inter-county level, Sheehan first played for the Cork senior hurling team on 3 July 1910. He was a regular member of the team over much of the following decade and won four Munster Championship medals, including one as captain. The highlight of Sheehan's inter-county career was the winning of an All-Ireland Championship medal in 1919 after a defeat of Dublin in the final. He played his last game for Cork on 28 May 1922 in what was the opening round of the delayed 1921 championship. On 21 February 1950, Sheehan died from bronchitis aged 60. Redmonds GAA
Redmonds is a Gaelic Athletic Association club based in Cork in County Cork, Ireland. The club is situated in Tower Street, on the southside of the city. The club participates in Cork GAA competitions and in Seandún divisional board competitions. The club no longer fields hurling teams but continues to participate in the Seandun junior C football competitions. History Redmonds GAA have been in the Senior Hurling Championship Finals 10 times from their first finals appearance in 1892 to their last finals appearance in 1927. They won the title five times in 1892, 1900, 1901, 1915 and 1917. In the early years of the Gaelic Athletic Association clubs represented their county in the All-Ireland championships. Therefore, Redmonds were the Cork representatives on several occasions, and in 1892 were All-Ireland Senior Hurling Championship winners. The 1915 Cork Senior Hurling Championship was the 28th staging of the Cork Senior Hurling Championship since its establishment by the Cork County Board in 1887. Midleton were the defending champions. On 8 August 1915, Redmonds won the championship following a 4–01 to 0–01 defeat of Collegains in the final. This was their fourth championship title overall and their first title in 14 championship seasons. Barry Murphy (Cork Hurler)
Barry Murphy (born 19 April 1888) was an Irish hurler who played as a goalkeeper for the Cork senior team. Murphy made his first appearance for the team during the 1914 championship and was a regular member of the starting fifteen at various times until his retirement after the 1919 championship. During that time he won one Munster medal. Murphy was an All-Ireland runner-up on one occasion. At club level Murphy was a one-time county intermediate championship medalist with Cloughduv Cloghduv or Cloghduff ( ; ) is a village in County Cork, Ireland. It has a population of 360 people. The 1920 All-Ireland Senior Hurling Championship was the 34th staging of the All-Ireland hurling championship since its establishment by the Gaelic Athletic Association in 1887. The championship began on 9 May 1920 and ended on 14 May 1922. Cork were the defending champions; however, they were defeated by Dublin by 4-9 to 4-3 in the final.
