Route 166 is a minor state highway in southern Connecticut running from Westbrook, Connecticut, Westbrook to Old Saybrook, Connecticut, Old Saybrook. The route primarily serves as a connector from I-95 to the Saybrook Manor, Connecticut, Saybrook Manor section of Old Saybrook. Route description Route 166 begins at an intersection with Connecticut Route 153, Route 153 in the eastern part of the town of Westbrook, Connecticut, Westbrook. It heads east, roughly paralleling I-95 (CT), I-95 on the north, into the town of Old Saybrook, Connecticut, Old Saybrook. Along the way, it passes by the Westbrook Block company just before crossing the town line. In Old Saybrook, it turns south, crossing Interstate 95 (Connecticut), I-95 along the Rosario Aloisio Memorial Bridge, with an interchange at exit 66. Westbrook is a town in Middlesex County, Connecticut, United States. The population was 6,769 at the 2020 census. The town center is classified by the U.S. Census Bureau as a census-designated place (CDP). Geography Westbrook lies in the shoreline area of the state. The town is bordered by the towns of Essex, Clinton, Deep River, and Old Saybrook, where the Connecticut River empties into Long Island Sound. The Salt Meadow Unit of the Stewart B. McKinney National Wildlife Refuge is located in town. According to the United States Census Bureau, the town has a total area of , of which, is land and (26.47%) is water.
