Conjunto Atardecer
Conjunto Atardecer is a regional Mexican band that specializes in the duranguense genre. History Conjunto Atardecer formed in Santa Maria del Oro, Durango, in September 2000. The idea of forming the group stemmed from the concerns of three young students who were beginning to switch on some of the school festivals, which were much in demand, as well as private events. Seeing that many people liked the band, they were asked increasingly to perform at private events. They then decided to invite two more members, thus reinforcing musically. They began to rehearse, but not yet by the name that would identify them in their presentations. It was then that they had the idea of calling themselves "Conjunto Atardecer"; honoring that afternoon when the five came together for the first time. From its inception, the group began to grow in popularity, which led them to record their first album entitled "Con Todo el Corazón" ("From the Heart"). Duranguense is a genre of Regional Mexican music. It is a hybrid of Technobanda and Tamborazo. Its popularity peaked in the mid to late 2000s among the Mexican and Mexican American community in the United States, as well as in many parts of Mexico. The instruments held over from tamborazo are the saxophone, trombone, and tambora, while the instruments held over from technobanda are the electronic keyboard (more specifically the Korg X3, Korg N364, which are used for the main melody and the Yamaha DX7, which is used by many bands for the bass section), drum set, and vocals. The electronic keyboard is emphasized in Duranguense, giving the genre its own signature riff. The genre popularized the dance style, Pasito Duranguense. ''Norteño'' or ''Norteña'' (, ''northern''), also ''música norteña'', is a genre of Regional Mexican music. The music is most often based on duple and triple metre and its lyrics often deal with socially relevant topics, although there are also many norteño love songs. The accordion and the bajo sexto are traditional norteño's most characteristic instruments. Norteña music developed in the late 19th century, as a mixture between local Mexican music and Austrian-Czech-origin folk music. The genre is popular in both Mexico and the United States, especially among the Mexican and Mexican-American community, and it has become popular in other Spanish-speaking countries as far as Colombia and Chile.
