Confuzion
''Confuzion'' is a puzzle game developed and published by Incentive Software for the ZX Spectrum, Commodore 64, BBC Micro, and Acorn Electron. The object is to guide a spark along a fuse wire. It is similar to the 1982 arcade game '' Loco-Motion.'' ''Confuzion'' was written by Paul Shirley who later wrote ''Spindizzy''. ''Zzap!64'' magazine considered ''Confuzion'' to be the best arcade-puzzle game available at the time for the Commodore 64. Audio track The cassette tape on which the game was supplied also contained an audio track also titled "Confusion", which was composed by the Band Private Property (Matt Smith Lyrics, Joanne Holt/Steve Salt Music) and performed by Joanne Holt, Matt Smith, Steve Salt, Chris Weller and Gary Seaward. Rob Hubbard
Rob Hubbard (born 1955 in Kingston upon Hull, England) is a British composer best known for his musical and programming work for microcomputers of the 1980s, such as the Commodore 64. Early life Hubbard first started playing music at age seven. Whilst at school he played in bands. After leaving school he went to music college. Early career In the late seventies, before scoring games, he was a professional studio musician. He decided to teach himself BASIC and machine code for the Commodore 64. Music on the Commodore 64 He approached Gremlin Graphics in 1985 to promote a few demos and a music-education program he had written, but Gremlin was more interested in his music than his software. He was asked to create the soundtrack for '' Thing on a Spring'', a platform game. ''Loco-Motion'', known as in Japan, is an arcade puzzle game developed by Konami in 1982 and released by Sega in Japan. The North American rights were licensed to Centuri. In ''Loco-Motion'', the player builds a path for their unstoppable locomotive by moving tracks which will allow it to pick up passengers. The game was ported to Intellivision, the Tomy Tutor, and–under a different name– MSX. A clone programmed by Carol Shaw of Activision, '' Happy Trails'', was published for Intellivision before the official version was released. Gameplay Loco-Motion is an updated version of a sliding block puzzle game in which the player can move tiles horizontally or vertically within a rectangular frame that contains one empty square. Incentive Software
Incentive Software Ltd. was a British video game developer and publisher founded by Ian Andrew in 1983. Programmers included Sean Ellis, Stephen Northcott and Ian's brother Chris Andrew. Later games were based on the company's Freescape rendering engine. Developed in-house, Freescape is considered to be one of the first proprietary 3D engines to be used in computer games, although the engine was not used commercially outside of Incentive's own titles. The project was originally thought to be so ambitious that according to Ian Andrew, the company struggled to recruit programmers for the project, with many believing that it could not be achieved.
