Confession (2022 Film)
''Confession'' () is a 2022 South Korean mystery thriller film directed by Yoon Jong-seok, starring So Ji-sub, Kim Yunjin, Nana and Hwang Sun-hee. Based on Oriol Paulo's 2016 Spanish film ''The Invisible Guest'', the film depicts a story about a man who has been pointed out as the culprit of a locked-room murder and his lawyer approaching the truth. The film had its premiere at 36th Fribourg International Film Festival on March 20, 2022, and its Italian premium at 24th Udine Far East Film Festival on April 30, 2022 as closing film of the festival. It was released theatrically in South Korea on October 26, 2022. Synopsis Min-ho's mistress is found dead in a hotel, whose only residents are the couple. He becomes the prime suspect, but insists he is innocent and hires a crack defence attorney. Min-ho is convinced that a car accident is linked to the murder. ''The Invisible Guest'' ( es, Contratiempo, lit=Setback) is a 2016 Spanish mystery thriller film written and directed by Oriol Paulo. It was released in Spain on 6 January 2017. The film opened to lukewarm critical response, but was a commercial success, grossing $30.7 million against its €4 million budget. ''The Invisible Guest'' has spawned four remakes in different languages. Plot Spanish businessman Adrián Doria is out on bail after being arrested for the murder of his lover, Laura Vidal. 21st New York Asian Film Festival
The 21st New York Asian Film Festival began in New York from 15 July with the opening film of the festival '' Fast and Feel Love'', a Thai film by Nawapol Thamrongrattanarit. The 21st edition was celebrated as 20th anniversary of the festival and seventy titles were screened in person. The lineup included six world premieres, eight international premieres, 19 North American premieres, four U.S. premieres, and 17 East Coast premieres. The festival closed with Korean sci-fi 2022 film ''Alienoid'' by Choi Dong-hoon on 31 July. Mongolian film ''The Sales Girl'' by Janchivdorj Sengedorj won the Uncaged Award for Best Feature Film. This year the festival hosted a fundraising event 'Fight Cancer Night' on July 17, with the proceeds going to the American Cancer Society. TVING () is a South Korean online streaming service operated by TVING Corporation, a joint venture of CJ E&M (CJ Group), Naver and JTBC. It is a platform that streams dramas, entertainment shows, exclusive television films and specials. History TVING was launched on May 31, 2010, by CJ HelloVision.
