Concordia (mythology)
In ancient Roman religion, Concordia (means "concord" or "harmony" in Latin) is the goddess who embodies agreement in marriage and society. Her Greek equivalent is usually regarded as Harmonia, with musical harmony a metaphor for an ideal of social concord or '' entente'' in the political discourse of the Republican era. She was thus often associated with Pax ("Peace") in representing a stable society. As such, she is more closely related to the Greek concept of ''homonoia'' ( likemindedness), which was also represented by a goddess. Concordia Augusta was cultivated in the context of Imperial cult. Dedicatory inscriptions to her, on behalf of emperors and members of the imperial family, were common. Concordia Selander
Concordia Cornelia Johanna Selander, née ''Hård'' ( Arboga, 2 June 1861 – 31 March 1935), was a Swedish actress and theatre manager. Her father was a music instrument maker. She first trained at the school of the Royal Swedish Ballet (1874–80) and later at the Royal Dramatic Training Academy (1878–83). She was active at Stora teatern in Gothenburg 1883–85, at various travelling theatre companies in 1885–88, and at the Swedish Theatre (Stockholm) in 1888–89. In 1887, she married Hjalmar Selander, and from 1889 onward she was actor and co-manager of their own Selander Company. Concordia, Sinaloa
Concordia is a city and its surrounding municipality in the Mexican state of Sinaloa. The town is noted for manufacture of artesinal wooden furniture, symbolized by the giant chair in the town plaza. According to 2010 census, it had a population of 8,328 inhabitants. Founded as Villa de San Sebastián in 1565 by Francisco de Ibarra, Concordia was originally a center of gold, silver and copper mining. Concordia is a provincial electoral division in the Canadian province of Manitoba. It is in the northeastern part of the city of Winnipeg. It is bordered to the south by St. Boniface, to the west by Elmwood, to the north by Rossmere, and to the east by Radisson. The riding was created by redistribution in 1979, and formally came into existence with the provincial election of 1981. Concordia is an ethnically diverse riding, with 16% of its human population born outside Canada. Concordia is a smock mill in Ede, the Netherlands, which is maintained in working order. The mill is listed as Rijksmonument number 14469. History The mill was built in 1868 to replace an earlier mill that burnt down in 1865, which was believed to date back to the 17th century. Concordia is a locality at the western end of the Barossa Valley, South Australia, situated 5 km ENE of Gawler. Concordia ( ur, کونکورڈیا) is the confluence of the Baltoro Glacier and the Godwin-Austen Glacier in the Karakoram mountain range of Pakistan. It is located in the Baltistan region of Pakistan, at above sea level.
