Concert Of Intrigue
''Concert of Intrigue'' ( it, Tradita) is a 1954 Italian historical melodrama film directed by Mario Bonnard and starring Brigitte Bardot. It recorded admissions of 959,000 in France. Plot During the First World War, Enrico and Franco, two brothers of the noble Alberti family of Rovereto, found themselves on opposite sides: the older Enrico, physically handicapped, is pro-Austrian while the younger Franco is a fervent patriot who thanks to his career as a pianist can move freely between the two countries. Despite a relationship with Elisabetta Tabor, a Polish singer, Franco decides to marry the young Anna, the niece of a police lieutenant, but Enrico is also interested in her. Henry driven by jealousy, backed by Elisabetta who is actually a spy of the Austrians, they convince his brother that his arrest is imminent and he must flee to Italy where he joins the army and returns to fight in the Rovereto area and finds Anna who in the meanwhile she gave birth to a baby boy. Mario Bonnard
Mario Bonnard (24 December 1889 – 22 March 1965) was an Italian actor and film director. Bonnard was born and died in Rome. He began his cinematic career as an actor becoming a popular romantic lead in numerous silent films made before World War I. In 1917 he ventured into film directing for the first time. Before the arrival of sound films he worked for a period in Germany in films directed by Luis Trenker. Back in Italy in 1932, he became a prolific director working with the major stars of the time as: Assia Noris, Elsa Merlini, Amedeo Nazzari, Luisa Ferida, Henry Viarisio. ''Il feroce Saladino'' (1937) was the most popular of his films of the 1930s. During the war he continued to work. Vera Carmi (23 November 1914 – 6 September 1969) was an Italian film actress. She appeared in more than 50 films between 1940 and 1956. She was born in Turin, Italy and died in Rome, Italy. Life and career Carmi was born Virginia Doglioli in Turin. After being spotted by the director Ferdinando Maria Poggioli in a beauty contest, she made her film debut in 1940, in a supporting role in Poggioli's ''Goodbye Youth (1940 film), Goodbye Youth'' and in a short time she became one of the most requested actresses in the Telefoni Bianchi genre.
