Compton Verney Art Gallery is an art gallery at Compton Verney, England. It is housed in Compton Verney House, a restored Grade I listed 18th-century mansion surrounded by of parkland which was landscaped by Lancelot 'Capability' Brown. Art Fund (formerly the National Art Collections Fund) is an independent membership-based British charitable organization, charity, which raises funds to aid the acquisition of artworks for the nation. It gives grants and acts as a channel for many gifts and bequests, as well as lobbying on behalf of museums and galleries and their users. Graham Parker
Graham Thomas Parker (born 18 November 1950) is an English singer-songwriter, who is best known as the lead singer of the British band Graham Parker & the Rumour. Life and career Early career (1960s–1976) Parker was born in Hackney, East London, in 1950. He was a pupil at Chobham Secondary Modern School in Surrey. After the arrival of the Beatles, Parker and some other 12/13-year-olds formed the Deepcut Three, soon renamed the Black Rockers. None of the members actually learned to play their instruments, however, and were merely dress-up bands, adopting Beatle haircuts, black jeans and polo neck sweaters. Jacqueline Donachie
Jacqueline Donachie (born 1969) is a Scottish artist who uses drawing, photography, sculpture and installation. She lives and works in Glasgow, Scotland. Education and early career Donachie studied fine art from 1987 to 1991 at the Glasgow School of Art. She graduated from the School's Environmental Art department, which encouraged artists to place their work in a variety of public contexts outside the gallery space. She completed a Masters of Fine Art at Hunter College, New York in 1996. Donachie was one of a group of artists who helped establish Glasgow in the 1990s as one of the world's most dynamic contemporary art communities. Marcus Coates
Marcus Coates is a contemporary artist and ornithologist living in London. His works, including performances and installations that have been recorded as video art, employ shamanistic rituals in communication with "the lower world", and contrast natural and man-made processes. Tim Brennan
Tim Brennan is an American musician who is a lead guitarist, vocalist and one of the primary songwriters of the Boston Celtic punk group Dropkick Murphys. Early life and career Born in West Hartford, Connecticut, Brennan played drums for numerous punk, hardcore and rock bands in Connecticut where he graduated from Kingswood-Oxford preparatory high school in West Hartford CT in 2000 before moving to Worcester MA to attend Assumption College. While in High School Tim had a teacher who gave him a Pogues cassette tape. Tim learned how to play the tin whistle while listening to that tape. Later the same teacher gave Tim the Dropkick Murphys album "Do or Die" thus fully introducing Tim to Celtic Punk Music. John Frankland
The Very Revd John Frankland (1669 – 1730) was an 18th-century academic and Dean in the Church of England. The youngest son of Sir William Frankland, 1st Baronet, he was born at Thirkleby and educated at Eton College. He graduated B.A. from Sidney Sussex College, Cambridge in 1695, and M.A. in 1698. He was elected a Fellow of Sidney Sussex College, Cambridge in 1700; and ordained a priest of the Church of England in 1702. He held livings in Oswaldkirk and Bristol. Frankland was Dean of Gloucester from 1723 until 1729, and then Dean of Ely until his death on 3 September 1730, he was also elected Master of Sidney Sussex in 1726, and then Vice Chancellor of the University of Cambridge for 1728–29. Simon Patterson (born 1967) is an English artist and was born in Leatherhead, Surrey. He was shortlisted for the Turner Prize in 1996 for his exhibitions at the Lisson Gallery, the Gandy Gallery, and three shows in Japan. He is the younger brother of the painter Richard Patterson. Anya Gallaccio
Anya Gallaccio (born 1963) is a British artist, who creates site-specific, minimalist installations and often works with organic matter (including chocolate, sugar, flowers and ice). Her use of organic materials results in natural processes of transformation and decay, meaning that Gallaccio is unable to predict the end result of her installations. Something which at the start of an exhibition may be pleasurable, such as the scent of flowers or chocolate, would inevitably become increasingly unpleasant over time. The timely and site-specific nature of her work make it notoriously difficult to document. Her work therefore challenges the traditional notion that an art object or sculpture should essentially be a monument within a museum or gallery. Peter Moores Foundation
Sir Peter Moores (9 April 1932 – 23 March 2016) was a British businessman, art collector and philanthropist who was chairman of the Liverpool-based Littlewoods football pools and retailing business in the United Kingdom between 1977 and 1980. His father, Sir John Moores, was the founder of the Littlewoods company, though the family no longer owns it. In the Sunday Times Rich List 2006 the Moores' family wealth was estimated at £1,160m. Peter Moores was educated at Eton College and Christ Church, Oxford.
