"Como Te Extraño" ( en, How Much I Miss You) is a song recorded by American Tejano singer Pete Astudillo for his second studio album of the same name (1995). The song was released as the lead single by EMI Latin. It was composed by Astudillo and former Selena y Los Dinos band members; A.B. Quintanilla and Joe Ojeda. The recording is a tribute song for American Tejano singer Selena, who was killed in March 1995. Selena was the lead vocalist of Selena y Los Dinos, while Astudillo was the backup dancer of the group and occasional duet partner with Selena. Pete Astudillo
Pedro Astudillo (born December 1, 1963) is an American singer and songwriter. He was a backup vocalist for Selena y Los Dinos and has released several albums as a solo artist. Early life Astudillo was born on December 1, 1963, in Laredo, Texas, to Pedro and Paz Astudillo. He was one of the leaders of the Tejano music scene, and from an early age followed mariachi and conjunto music. He began his musical career in a duo band called Los Bad Boyz alongside his friend Joe Ojeda in their hometown Laredo in 1985. In 1987, they were brought into a band, Selena y Los Dinos, by its manager, Abraham Quintanilla Jr., after opening a show for Los Dinos at a disco in Laredo. Astudillo became a backup vocalist for the Queen of Tejano, Selena, the lead member of the group. Selena ¡VIVE! ( en, Selena Lives!) was a benefit concert which was held on the tenth anniversary of the death of Tejano superstar Selena Quintanilla-Pérez. The concert was held on April 7, 2005 at the Reliant Stadium in Houston, Texas with over 70,000 attendees. The special was produced and filmed by the Spanish language network, Univision, and was the most-watched special in the Spanish language in the history of American television. Concert synopsis The special opened with an introduction by Jennifer Lopez, followed by Selena's original greeting to the fans of her last concert at the Houston Astrodome on February 26, 1995. The musical tribute also included a performance by Mexican singer Thalía's interpretation of one of Selena's songs, "Amor Prohibido".
