Communist League (Brazil)
The Communist League ( pt, Liga Comunista) was a grouping of the Left Opposition in Brazil, formed in 1931, operating within the Brazilian Communist Party (PCB) and which gave rise, in 1934, to the Internationalist Communist League, an organization formed by Mario Pedrosa, Lívio Xavier, Fúlvio Abramo, Aristides Lobo, Benjamin Péret, Rodolfo Coutinho, Wenceslau Escobar Azambuja, among other PCB activists and union members such as Joaquim Barbosa (PCB secretary for union affairs), João Costa Pimenta (trade union veteran, grandfather of Rui Costa Pimenta Rui Costa Pimenta (born in São Paulo, 25 June 1957) is a Brazilian politician and a perennial presidential candidate aligned with the Trotskyist Workers' Cause Party ( pt, Partido da Causa Operária). Mario Pedrosa
is a character (arts), character created by Japanese video game designer Shigeru Miyamoto. He is the title character of the ''Mario (franchise), Mario'' franchise and the mascot of Japanese video game company Nintendo. Mario has appeared in List of video games featuring Mario, over 200 video games since his creation. Depicted as a short, pudgy, Italians, Italian plumber who resides in the Mushroom Kingdom, his adventures generally center on rescuing Princess Peach from the Koopa Troopa, Koopa villain Bowser. Leon Trotsky
Lev Davidovich Bronstein. ( – 21 August 1940), better known as Leon Trotsky; uk, link= no, Лев Давидович Троцький; also transliterated ''Lyev'', ''Trotski'', ''Trotskij'', ''Trockij'' and ''Trotzky''. (), was a Russian Marxist revolutionary, political theorist and politician. Ideologically a Marxist, his developments to the ideology are called Trotskyism. Born to a wealthy Jewish family in Yanovka (now Bereslavka, Ukraine), Trotsky embraced Marxism after moving to Mykolaiv in 1896. In 1898, he was arrested for revolutionary activities and subsequently exiled to Siberia. He escaped from Siberia in 1902 and moved to London, where he befriended Vladimir Lenin. In 1903, he sided with Julius Martov's Mensheviks against Lenin's Bolsheviks during the Russian Social Democratic Labour Party's initial organisational split.
