The Grand Lithuanian Hetman Kristupas Radvila Perkūnas Communications and Information Systems Battalion () is a Lithuanian Armed Forces, Lithuanian military unit established on 8 January 2019. History The Battalion was formed in January 2019, on the basis of the Communications and Information Systems Company of the Grand Duke Gediminas Staff Battalion. Mission The Communications and Information Systems Battalion is responsible for the security of internal communication in the Lithuanian Armed Forces and between separate units. According to Ministry of National Defence (Lithuania), Vice Minister of National Defence Edvinas Kerza, the establishment of the Communications and Information Systems Battalion was decided due to the need to provide protection from new IT threats. Grand Duke Gediminas Staff Battalion
The Grand Duke Gediminas Staff Battalion () is a unit of the Lithuanian Armed Forces, whose staff it protects. It is also charged with representing Lithuania and its army by providing guard of honour at official events in Lithuania and abroad. The battalion traditionally celebrates on 25 August, because on that day in 1919, the 1st Infantry Regiment with other Lithuanian Army units won the final victory against Bolsheviks at Zarasai.
