Communes Of Moldova
According to the Moldovan law on territorial administrative organisation, two or more villages can form together a commune. Below is the list of communes of Moldova, grouped by the first-tier administrative unit to which they belong, and including the number and the list of villages of which they are comprised, plus the population values as of 2004 and 2014 Moldovan Censuses. Commune (administrative Division)
A municipality is usually a single administrative division having corporate status and powers of self-government or jurisdiction as granted by national and regional laws to which it is subordinate. The term ''municipality'' may also mean the governing body of a given municipality. A municipality is a general-purpose administrative subdivision, as opposed to a special-purpose district. The term is derived from French and Latin . Berlinți
Berlinți is a commune in Briceni District, Moldova. It is composed of two villages, Berlinți and Caracușenii Noi. History On the entire History of the Jews in Moldova, Jewish population of the town was murdered in a massacre by Nazi Germany. A small memorial for the massacre was built in 1952. In October 2021 a drunk driver rammed his car into a man inside the village, killing him. The incident was reportedly intentional. Briceni District
Briceni () is a district ( ro, raion) in the north-west of Moldova, with the administrative center at Briceni. The other major city is Lipcani. As of January 1, 2011, its population was 75,300. History The first documentary attestation dates back to district towns June 17, 1429. Such localities: Lipcani, Larga, Mihăileni, ȘirăuÈ›i are mentioned first in the period 1429–1433. In July 1429, reign of Moldova Alexander the Good Dan Uncleata had established him several villages in the region of the district today. In 1562 is first attested Briceni city under the name of the land AdicăuÈ›i, Hotin, which gave him his Despot Voda to Vartic. Lipcani Tatars in 1699 are displaced living in the city which they called, being displaced to Kamianets-Podilskyi. In 1788 Austrian military administration Briceni found in 56 households. Basarabeasca District
Basarabeasca () is a district ( ro, raion) in the south of Moldova, with the administrative center at Basarabeasca. History From 1393 to 1538, the region was part of the principality of Moldavia. In the 16th, 17th and 18th centuries, the region was populated by Tatars. Localities with the oldest documentary attestation is Sadaclia, remembered the first time in 1793. In 1812, after the Russo-Turkish War (1806-1812), is the occupation of Basarabia, Russian Empire during this period (1812–1917), there is an intense russification of the native population. In 1918, after the collapse of the Russian Empire, Bessarabia united with Romania. During this period (1918–1940 and 1941–1944), the district was part of Tighina County.
